FiiO&JadeAudio Dynamic Driver IEMs Discussion & Impressions Thread

After a brief listening with the adopters and balanced oem tips on the narrow nozzles, i screwed the width nozzles back quickly.

While the dampening on the highs was quite obvious stronger than with the Final-E tips, this combos has ruined what makes the FD5 so special, imo.

The atmospheric shimmery feel was completely gone. :frowning2:
Way too closed in for what the FD5 is capable to deliver, sadly.

Like on this lovely piece of music:

I won't screw the n-nozzles to the FD5 until my ordered CP800 has arrived. :slight_frown:
Looking forward to.

The Final E serves me very well in size M.

Hmm.
Final E Tips are from Size SS to LL in one package.
On the bottom right are the oem balanced tips size M.

Sorry for the poor image quality.
My phone cam has messed with a stone lately. ^^
It's not about size, it's about softness. Spinfit tips are softer than the original ones, and have a turnable head for more comfortable fitting.

Got it.
Thanks. :)

Hi! I am not familiar with your line of FD headphones. but I really liked this model. tell me, do they have any genre preferences? 80% of the music I listen to is hip-hop.
Dear friend,

The FD3 is an entry-level HiFi earphone model following the footsteps of the FD5. As a complementary product, the FD3 inherits the merits from the FD5 by using a large 12mm dynamic driver with its diaphragm using Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) with a robust magnet of 1.5 Tesla magnetic flux. It becomes more lively in sound tuning and more capable in pop music yet with excellent resolution in high frequencies. Compared with the FD3, the FD3 Pro comes with warmer vocals and higher resolution capacity in high frequencies when equipped with a pro-grade cable.

If you don't mind, you could try and test in the local store by yourself.

Best regards

@FiiO you mentioned that the FD3 Pro is featured with interchangeable 2.5/3.5/4.4mm audio plugs. Will those interchangeable plugs be included in the retail box. If not then will be have to the option to choose which plug we want while ordering the FD3 Pro?
Dear friend,

All this three plugs will comes with the FD3pro.

Best regards

I wish the copper cable the base model came with was a 2.5mm balanced cable.
Dear friend,

Thanks for the feedback. We will also report to the product manger about that.

Best regards

@FiiO will the FD3 Pro be available in India?

Damn, I'm a sucker for a bassy and warm single DD IEM. Looking for something resolving yet musical for portable use. I think the FD3 with the narrow "balanced" nozzle might do the trick.

I was worried that the DLC driver would have excessive energy in the consonant region but this IEM does a good job of taming that tizziness. If anything, with the balanced nozzle and my preferred tips, the mid to treble response is actually quite refined for a $100 IEM.

You have it in hand? How would you describe the overall signature? The graph looks very promising but as we know graphs don’t tell the whole story.

With my current tips, cables, and nozzles, the sound is closer to relaxed harman + bass rather than "chifi" (ugh dislike that term) V, but I'd imagine it's possible to get something closer to that sound profile with the brighter nozzles and tips.

Perhaps more importantly, I think the waveguide does a decent job of reducing any noise that the DLC driver might want to add to the mix. With the caveat that the driver is still breaking in and sometimes opinions need some time in my head to settle, I'm pretty impressed with the timbre and tuning.
