I won't say much about the appearance, everyone has its own love. For me? I like them both lol!

I‘m going straight to the subject and talking about the differences between their sound.

I used the same cable, same ear tips and the same Q5s, just for fair. At the moment I put on them, differences just pop out in my ear.

The new FD3 is far more better than FH3, especially in bass, I'm able to hear the different tones of bass, the different position of the instrument producing bass and the most importantly, the bass won't cover up treble.

And the sound stage of FD3 is sooo accurate that I regret buying Sundara hahah. Just like what I mentioned before, I could hear the position of the instrument when I listened The Magnificent Seven. That's amazing for me.

The only thing I dislike is the sibilance from the voice(Sia's voice, to be precise). I think it's because the engineer wants FD3 to have a higher resolution.

Though FH3 does have some advantages like the shape(very comfortable), and it wins a little bit in extremely high frequency, these advantages can't stop me choosing FD3.

Well, if I had to pick a winner, I would pick FD3. It represents FiiO's sound tuning is growing up.

I forget mentioning that the interchangeable plugs is one of the reasons why I like PRO version. 2.5mm Bal for my moded AM3A(see my avatar), 4.4mm Bal for my AM3D and 3.5mm for my cellphone, computer. But I didn't buy pro version, because I was attracted by the silver FD3. Thanks for my audiophile friend, I borrowed the cable for pro.

Hello mate could you give a detailed comparison of the Fh3 vs Fd3 sound? Especially in the mids & treble section since you've already mentioned bass is better on the fd3. Also which one did you feel have better detail retrieval in music? TIA, will be looking forward to your reply :)

FD3 has a thicker mids, FH3 seems to have a problem between BAs and Dynamic, they just play their own frequency and don't want to join together:sweat_smile:. FD3 has a smoother sound than FH3. So does the treble. Even though FH3 has a little bit more details in treble than FD3, it sounds not that natural.

Hey man...thanks a lot for the comparison.

Does getting the non pro solve the sibilance issue. Also does the fd3 require balanced connection...I mean does it require alot of power to drive, I am planning to drive it with shanling ua2 single ended which is rated at 125mw@32 ohms but the 2.5mm is rated at 195mw.

I cant stand sibilance so if copper cable solves the sibilance issue.... is it worth to get the pro for balanced connection for that extra power?
thanks man!!!

I’m curious about how the FD3 does against the similarly priced Tin HiFi T4.

Single ended is ok but you can get a larger sound field(or sound stage) with Bal, power is not that important to FD3. Sibilance can be solved with different ear tips but the treble will also be weakened. I wouldn't solve this because the sibilance is still within my range. :dt880smile:

I don't have Tin T4. Honestly, I think T4 is not as good-looking as FD3. :L3000:
It’s okay if it doesn’t look as good; I won’t be able to see either while I’m listening to them.

I was keen on getting the fh3 but this thing landed unexpectedly so i am waiting for more reviews and comparions.
thanks man..that cleared it. it seems to me that you recommend the pro version if money isnt the problem!
What do you think of that bass nozzle?
What do you say about fd3's bass quantity with the stock nozzle is it comparable to fh3?

Pro version is better, and I usually use treble nozzle for more details of music.
FD3 has a little more bass than FH3, but it wins at quality, which cannot be changed by replacing the nozzle. Compared to FD3, the bass of FH3 is thin and with less detail.

one last question....what about the soundstage?
fd3 seems to have a semi open design...does this increase the the stage more than fh3.

Thanks a lot man for helping me out!
