FiiO&JadeAudio Dynamic Driver IEMs Discussion & Impressions Thread

Well, I got the JVC Spiral Dot ++ tips and....... they sound 'just OK' to me. They kinda flatten out the 3D soundstage and wash out the great tone that I get with the Final Type E tips.

I can maybe see them working better with overly bright sounding IEMs, but the FD5's don't really have that problem for me.

So I'll be happily sticking with the Type E tips. The sound I get from the FD5 with them is simply fantastic!
yes, I tried some wide-bore tips like the spiral dots++ and it wasnt nearly as good as the type E´s. So I do think the FD5 is a bit more tip sensitive than average.

I agree that the FD5 is more tip sensitive than many IEMs. I've only tried a few tips so far but the differences between them seem relatively significant to my ears and are much more noticeable compared to every other IEMs I've used. For now I've settled on the smallest of the included bass tips but I see this tip sensitivity as a positive and am looking forward to experimenting more.

If anyone in Europe is interested, I might be selling my lightly used FD5. They are just not technical enough for my personal taste.
This seems to me to be most likely a matter of expectations. I expected (hoped actually) to trade some technical prowess and speed for tone and timbral accuracy buying a $300 single dd. Got what I hoped for. Sorry you didn't.

The design/specs remind me of the Campfire Audio Vega.

Most around here probably don't remember this, but I knew the fd5 design was familiar. Cracks me up.

You don't need to use it but I just do. I like the way the connector just "pops" out when you use it!!

The FD5 comes with an MMCX Assist.Do you often use it?How do you feel?

Expect more people to give me some feedback. :gs1000smile:
Ironically, while I like the concept and execution of the tool, (tried it once to see how it works-very well) the quality of the cable and its modular nature means i will probably never use it again. Not a cable roller though.
