To the Fiio Rep:
I need some help with an order for the Fiio M23. I could not find a dedicated forum for the M23, so I though that I would post this here since I have the R9. I ordered the M23 through the Fiio store on AliExpress (Order no. 8187774537642206). It has shipped, I believe by DHL, but the tracking number (3611877124) states that this item was sent from Seoul, Korea to New South Wales in Austrialia. I live in California, USA. A similar issue occurred when I ordered the R9. My name is Michael Gutierrez. Can you help me with this? Please let me know what additional information you need. Thank you.
Dear friend,

Hi, we have updated the latest tracking number in your order.
The 3611877124 is the original number of the tracking label. We arranged the shipment yesterday and the shipping company has just provided the transfer order number to us today.
Hope you could receive and enjoy the M23 soon.

Best regards

Something is very wrong with the R9 1.0.4 firmware: The Roon Ready function, which now shows the R9 as an R7 in the Roon settings, does not playback correctly. The playback is completely distorted. The other music playing apps, including Roon (not Roon Ready), play just fine.

After I did the FW update the playback for me using Roon Ready is absolutely fine. As far as I know the R9 has always shown as an R7 in Roon and needs to be temporarily renamed as R9 until Roon make the R9 Roon Ready.

@FiiO Hi, we have had contact multiple times about the Roon Ready app crashing when using Ethernet. I sent log files, tried all kind of scenarios but the app keeps crashing when using Ethernet. It's specifically the Roon Ready app crashing: all other applications work fine. With WiFi no problems either with the Roon Ready app but I want to use the ethernet port. Now I hoped this version 1.0.4 you would have fixed the issue but the problem remains. Can you please tell me when this is fixed?

To the rest of the community: Anyone else who encountered the problem that the Roon Ready app crashes when using cabled Ethernet?

I've been considering this all in one "Desktop DAP" from FIIO for some time.

How does the R9 compare to the A&K ACRO CA1000T?

Has anyone rooted the R9 and has anyone used Neutron Player with it?

Hello friend, let's see the product you mention, the A&K ACRO CA1000T, I didn't know of its existence but after looking at its specifications it looks like a real sound monster with a high-level Dac and a very powerful amplifier, apart from having vacuum tubes. offering in this case a much more organic sound. What I see here is a big price difference between the A&K and the Fiio R9, we are talking about almost double the price of each other. I have the Fiio R9 and I am super happy with both its functions and its sound quality. I can't speak about the A&K because I don't have it and I haven't tried it either, but on paper it would be far above the R9. If the budget is not a problem, I would definitely choose the A&K on the other hand if you have a tight budget or do not want to spend a fortune because the R9 is a great choice

I've actually owned a CA1000T at some point and while it was cool, the sound wasn't the greatest and don't take the MSRP prices of Astell&Kern too seriously, their DAPs are typically overpriced compared to competitors and are outclassed by lower priced gear in some cases.
The form factor of the CA1000T is nice and small but also very dense and heavy. It may be more "comfortable" to carry the R9 because of it's more balanced size and weight than to carry the CA1000T around.

Exactly what do you mean when you write "to carry around"? Both of these units are desktop, not portable, units. Would you moving the device from one setup or room to another setup or room? I'm just a bit confused as to what you mean.

I meant for transportation and moving it around your home because the CA1000T might be a bit more awkward because of how small and dense/heavy it is. It's about the size of a receipt printer.
