Ah thats the one that came with FDX that is copper/silver/gold. It really depends on how you like the sound. It makes the FD7 quite rumbly and bassy at the expense of detail. Not a bad tradeoff unless you want clean.
The original LC-RE Pro was what came with the FDX from how I understand it, the 2022 version has 50% more wires / cores - FiiO’s press release probably explains it more succinctly.

Any idea what's different from the 2021 version? I am such a huge fan of the FD7 that I'm almost considering the LC-RE as a completely impractical purchase...
I have the older version LC-RE Pro. I don't know what the difference in sonic performance is between the older version and the 2022 but while the newer version is 8 wire with 360 total wire strands as opposed to 4 wire with 240 total wire strandsin the older version, I did notice that Fiio no longer advertises the use of Furukawa (brand) copper in the 2022 version.
Again, I have no idea what sonic differences there may be between the old and newer versions of the cable.

I have the FDX and I am quite happy with it. The only thing I am lacking is a bit more detail, so the pure silver cable that comes with the FD7 would be the way to go?

Can you give me an example of detail you think is missing, and - when I get some time, I’ll compare?

I highly doubt it, but in the name of enjoyment I’ll give it a go for you.

Even ignoring the FD7 stock cable - compared to my older LC-4.4D Sterling silver cable, yes the LC-RE Pro 2022 has a fair bit less treble energy, I suppose it depends where you sit on the scale, I used to be a treble head back in the day - now I find pure silver (rather than SPC) cables a bit hot.

I don't think there is any treble energy lost with the LC-RE on the FD7. I think the focus is just shifted a bit because of the perception of added low end and maybe warmer lower mids. But then again, my ears give up just north of 10K so maybe I'm just not hearing it.

I prefer and am using the stock FD7 cable with the FD7.

Thank you for all the info. So I will try a pure silver cable, as I already use the treble nozzles. Does teh FD7 come with the LC-RD Pro?
Dear friend,

The FD7 comes with the LC-RD.

Best regards

If you want more treble out of the FD7/ X, I'd try EQ or, and I don't want to offend someone, take the FD5 instead.
Well, the FD5 comes with a slightly more V-shaped nature compared to the FD7/X (more oomph and sparkle), which makes it a great fun iem whit not much less details (sound wise) than the FD7/X.

It's my go to with any sort of metal over my FD7, i've to say.

Anyway, before I'd toss my coins to an expensive cable, I'd go for the FD5 instead.
But that's just me.

Got it. :)

It really depends on the source too.
They'll sound very different when connected to something like Mojo OG or a Sony device then out of a more neutral one.

Lots of options to play with, which is part of the fun game we're in.

As my FD7s are fitted with a third party nozzle (looks like the RHA tuning nozzles) and with the Xelastics tips, they'll sound different then yours.
Same goes with your listening habits and anatomy, of course. :)

Nonetheless, happy listening to these gems.
