A bit of a discovery. I was rummaging through my tips collection and I had an unopened set of these. These can be bought on Amazon and these have a wax guard on the openings. These are good old complys. I know complys are polarizing. Either you love them or you hate them. I have used these tips on another lively earphone Dunu DN2000J. The wax guard is a fine acoustic foam but what it does it takes a bit of the edge off the top. Worth looking into if you guys are finding the top end a bit edgy. Smoother sound as a result. TX400 I believe these are. These with a combination of my cable and the sound becomes exactly what I was looking for.

All the technicalities of the FD5 remain but again smoothing out the upper edges. I am also using my copper cable too so with that combination it becomes very plesant to listen to.

There is the silicone tips version of that called the OSTRY OS300, it has a similar filter that reduces treble (I havent tried it though).

Babies have landed, now they are warmed up for a few hours, with Fiio LC-RE :ksc75smile:

My fit is really very good, so it is already very good.

The only thing I still have negative in my stomach is HifiGo.
Bought as in stock, but then not. Shipping express ordered / paid extra, but no express.
Wrong address on the package .. and last but not least I had to pay customs and handling fees.
Sales price currently HifiGo 259.90

I paid a total of € 385.- :thumbsdown::triumph:

Be sure to burn! Without this, out of the box, sharpness on the treble and "sand". At least a few hours. Best of the night. A few nights would be better. After burning, the sound is solid and extended, deep bass sounds appear. The sound is surprisingly holographic, expressive. Very happy with FD5.
