Was just about to bite the bullet and order the Shure SE215M+ (same price) then I stumbled upon this thread. Big FIIO fan. Still have my X3 original and would never give it up. Eagerly awaiting more reviews as summer is coming and I need a portable for my nano when I'm sitting by the lake drinking Becks.

Hoping it compares favourably with my DN1K which is a pain the ass to fit as it is bloody heavy and therefore not suited to outdoor use.

If these had been around and I got to try them before I bought the SE535 quite a few years ago, I would have been completely happy with the F9, and wouldn't have bothered with the Shure. Definitely worth more than FiiO is asking for them.

How do the Simgot EN700 Bass hold up against the FiiO F9 ?

I cannot decide between them. After just buying the Kinera H3, and finding very bass lacking I need to keep looking for a pair of IEMs to replace my current TFZ Series 5S (I am selling the Kinera H3).

Does anyone know what would be a good replacement? (great sound and comfort).

This is something that stayed the same with all FiiO DAPs so far, really good value for the money :gs1000smile:

Me thinks me heard at least every FiiO item at least once and I'm pretty sure that the statement above is true :smile_phones:

Still waiting on that F9 package though....

these two IEM are quite different in design / features so it should not be so difficult to decide.

EN700BASS, 1 dynamic. F9 1 danamic + 2 BA.

EN700BASS, fixed cable. F9, detachable cable.

EN700BASS, not inline remote, F9: inline remote cable.

EN700BASS, not balanced cable, F9: balanced cable included.

Yes, but most issues are non decisive for me.
  • Dynamic vs dynamic + 2 BA: Does not mean one sounds better than the other.
  • Fixed cable or not: I could not care less so it does not lean the scale either way.
  • Inline remote: I do not use it so it does not lean the scale either way.
  • Balanced cable: Never used one. Have no source with balanced output, so once again it doesn't help me to decide.
Based on your answer, what would you go for?

I myself, being very impatient and being a little worried on the comfort issues of the Simgot EN700 Bass have gone and ordered a pair of FiiO F9's in black, will give my impressions as soon as they arrive.

I will be using them from a Cayin N3 digital audio player, but am already considering an upgrade. I really need more storage that one micro SD card, so will be considering a dual micro SD card enabled player that can play gapless. (Had a xDuoo X10 but sold it due to not being able to play gapless). Thinking of a FiiO X5 III, a Cayin N5, a iBasso DX80 or a The Bit Opus #1.

OK, to be honest, F9 will be better in the comfort issues but the sound quality should be decided by our user or yourself.

Ordered pair from Penon Audio - it was shipped today. Spending too much on this hobby :D

I second that. And I dont even listen to that much music. I still have headphones or earphones I have not listened to yet. And I am buying new ones. When will I realise that the dream is dead and that I will never be sixteen again listening to Pink Floyd for the first time?. Damn my obsession with HiFi and my surplus of cash!

I can only recommend x5 iii despite not knowing the others, cause it really pairs perfectly with F9 - so you would at least not go totally wrong!

I'd be a little bit concerned about mainly bright sources (with much treble) paired with treble pronouncing F9s...

That's a good advice! M2s should be quite good as well, I'd say.

AP200 is another option that sounds good, and there are always the more expensive ones, DX200, #3, and X7mkii.

Hows it going Brooko?? This is high praise indeed although you did not say better than so I'm assuming at my own peril that they are not but may be close?? Perhaps bass wise. Looking forward to your review and some payback at Forsyth Barr Stadium. The latter might be a little ambitious.
