I have received the left earphone cap of the F9 Pro, which FiiO has been kind enough to send me for free.
I glued it on, and the headset's as good as new.
After using the F9 for a month and a half and not the F9 Pro, I now realize that the F9 Pro sounds much better than the F9.
I am very grateful to the FiiO community manager in this forum, because thanks to him everything has been much easier.
Thanks

Glad to hear about that. Thanks for the kind feedback.

The frequency response looks more like the F9 Pro than the original F9

My original F9 is not a year old, the right side stopped playing at once's. I am very sad that can happen, though. But I cannot know if it is the speaker or cable, because I cannot take the cable off on any side, left or right. I tried to turn and put my nail between, I almost broke my naiL;; So i not knwo what to do, as I cannot test it. I go on holiday in 10 days, now I am stuck, as I like them on plane. The ambient sound is very good isolated, and instead af a big headphone, I can sleep with them..... I not remember where I bought them, thin k amazon.fr, but not sure. Really stupid, I cannto see if cable or speaker....

Sorry to hear that, mate. I have been curious about the Fiio IEMs but will probably wait until the FH5 comes out.

Try wiggling the cable while listening to something. Do so at different points on the cable (near the MMCX, 3.5mm or anywhere in between). If there is no audible change, then it's safe to assume the defect is from within the IEM shells.

It may be time for you to upgrade :D lots of great Chi-fi under $100. Best of luck.

indike- I experienced that issue, as well, after about 3-1/2 months. It was, hands-down, the cable. I couldn't get the MMCX loose solely with my fingers, so I inserted a mini flat blade screwdriver head in between and twist-pried them loose. I replaced the cable with an inexpensive 3rd party cable bought on Aliexpress:

The replacement cable has lasted for 5 months, so far. The only issue I have with it is that the volume control is sensitive to ESD (it's not MFI-certified) and can lower the volume on an iPhone in dry weather if you keep your phone in a shorts/pants pocket made of synthetic cloth.

I need new buds fast. I go on holiday. So I am looking for good sound isolation in plane. Although, they are not really made for that, could hardly hear any noise with it. So I need IE that does the same. Also one thing I like less was the treble being a bit too agressive. the bass could be just a bit more pronounced. Is there another IE, I could buy less then 150 €, who could give me more satisfaction, without breaking down on me so easy. I have more and more suspicion that the driver is broke....

I got Amazon on line (France). They will not replace or repair them. But I have to send them back and get refund. I finally with a nife and risking my hands got the wire relieved. It is the driver that is broken, just a little bit of sound out of the right phone.

Before I got new one's. Super cheap Noise cancelling. I not expect these be good, but at least I have something to travel with and cut the grass until I find the holy grail for me.

The pro version is stated better, but with more treble. But I am afraid that is to much for me then. I like a lush (not basshead) sound....

In on head phones I like the Sony signature, of the NC one's. Good but tight bass, a lot of detail, but not agressive.

Dear friend,

Sorry to hear about that. We will report to the engineer about that. If your seller fails to help, you could send email to us(support@fiio.net) about that as well.

Best regards

Every earbud, every headphone can break. As it is has detachable wire it is a shame that the driver seems broken. it just stopped when taking a walk. The resaler on Amazon not offered replacement, but did offer refund. I would not have mind replacement. The new earbuds I got are different. Less analytic, with a bit of sound cancellation too. BOTH have great sound, but very different approach. If this one breaks down too, would never mind to get to FiIO, I have 3 DAPS's.

When my last good iem died (Shure SE530) few years ago, unfortunately, my finance didn't allow me to splurge on a comparable replacement. I had to be content with Brainwavz M5 that I hate. Now, I'm thinking to get back to an entry level IEM and planning to get FiiO F9Pro - to try opposite sound signature IEM. Shure SE530 was warm and based on review, FiiO F9Pro seems to be bright? Is this correct? Is there a huge difference in soundstage between FiiO F9pro and Shure SE535?

It's a mild V-shape leaning bright, but with a spike at 9 kHz that can become piercing for the treble-sensitive during a small handful of songs.

There are alternate sets of eartips included that either lightly boost the bass or bring the midrange forward, reducing the impact of the spike, albeit at the cost of some high-end detail. The soundstage is mediocre at best, but it should still be better than that of the 535, since the F9 Pro actually has treble.

I bought a SpinFit CP100Z for my Samsung Gear IconX (loveddddd it btw), and used it on FiiO F9 Pro too!
Wish I bought it this week 'cause they're doing a father's day deal this week.
(Their true wireless replacement tips CP350 & CP100Z are on sale from $8.99 to $5.99....> <)
