Hey Guys,
Need to decide between the Fiio E11k or E07K for Beyerdynamic T90
Listening Source: Apple Mac and Galaxy S4 i9500 which has the Wolfson WM5102 DAC

Genres I listen to:
Progressive House, Pop, R&B, Trance, Dance, Alternative.
Thanks!

Have checked them out... both should be sufficient.
I only listen to music @ Low to medium levels

True...
Would you recommend any others under $100?

Sorry, but I've never owned the T90.

I've heard it's hard to drive and "picky" about amps so that means you'll probably have to spend a bit more.
Did you already buy it or is it a future purchase? They seem to be open headphones so you probably won't really be using it outside much.

I don't think the e11k or the e07k has enough power.

My E11 can easily drive 250-Ohm Beyers with the volume knob at less then 50%
The newer E11K should be about the same.

It has less power so not the same.

So far all the specs I can find on the E11K showing it outputs more power then the older E11.
At 32-Ohm the E11K is 270mW and the E11 is only 200mW.

The T90 is pretty easy to drive. In my experience much easier than other 250ohm Beyers, like the DT880.

For moderate listening levels, it doesn't seem to need additional amplification at all - mine sounds just as good out straight out of an iPad / Sansa Clip as they do out of a FiiO E10.

Either of those FiiO amps will be fine, unless you are listening at significant volume.

E07K 16-100 Ω

E11K 16~150Ω(recommend)

I mean you totally can, but you might have problems such as distortion or whatever else. Volume isn't the main issue.

Ignore these COMPLETELY!.
You can NEVER say, that an Amp is ok for xx - xxx Ohm, and above that not. Theres not a hard line, that 150 ohm headphones are totally fine, where 151 ohm headphones would have no sound.

MUCH more important is the sensetivity. After that comes the Impedance.

You pretty much just need to know how much impedance your headphone has, and how much mW power the amp can give at this impedance. And then just "know" if thats enough or not.

For example, my HTC One m8 has 11 mW at 150 Ohm, and 5,5 mW at 330 Ohm. And i can not use my T90 on them and turn the volume to max. Even at just 75-80% my ears start to hurt. 100% is not listenable to me, thats just way too loud.

I would say, either the E07k and the E11k are fine to be more than loud enough. But the E07k can also replace the DAC, not just the Amp (and depending how bad your mobile DAC chip is, this can sound better than the E11k + your phone)

Like I said, volume isn't the only issue. You can get enough volume off many sources. Go run the HD800s out of your phone and you'd probably have enough volume, but that doesn't mean it will sound good.

The ohm recommendations was taken directly off Fiio's website, not my own words.

ooooh well guess what I ran a DT 990 with a E11 and it sounded great :/

I say get the E11K and enjoy

If all he's looking for is volume then a lot of things would work. Just so you guys realize he doesn't even have the t90 yet.

I think you all are missing they key words such as might or probably. I never said it won't work. I just said he *might* run into some problems. And yes, I've tried multiple fiiO amps and although they had enough power, they never gave the performance of my full sized amps. I believe if you're going to spend a ton on headphones you should at least get a decent amp if it calls for it. Actually selling off some of them on forums/ebay
