I listened to the E1 on my friends iTouch and the Monster Turbines. Sounded very good. If you don't have an amp you will hear the difference immediately. E1 is well worth $20.

Nope, the mic and other headset controls will not work with the E1 connected to the LOD.

Just one question:

Is E1 affected by the static buzz that the cellphones typically give out with portable amps? Since I main Iphone 3G as my main portable I'm not going to bother if this gives the same problem (this is the main reason I sold the T4 few months ago).

I suspect you can, as the E1 does the volume control instead of the iPod, and it has (IIRC) about 60 individual steps in its volume setting.
