Been having a weird issue with the DM13-Bluetooth version, firmware V22-2, After charging for more than 12 hrs on a 5.0V 2.0Amp charger cannot get battery level past Bat-4 will not fully charge to Bat-5? Has anyone else seen this? I have tried other chargers and cables on my end.

I tried charging with the desktop mode switched on, and it eventually charged to Bat-5.

@FiiO Willson , surely it can be rectified. The Redbook cd standard has been out for more than 40 years, and countless cd players have no problems playing cd perfectly. I have an old Panasonic disc man that plays all cds perfectly.
Please fix this. I bought the dm13 because I believed in the fiio brand. Thanks.
@FiiO Willson - Greetings! I'm checking in to make sure I have the latest firmware available for my DM13 (non-bluetooth version). Is there an official download location I should be checking? Thank you!
We're trying to work out some kinks. You may not feel it.

We try to release the new version within 2 weeks.

But since the Chinese New Year is coming up, if you count the holidays, then it'll take a little longer

Any news on when it will be able to use the device as a standard usb cd player for Windows media player - maybe an upgraded product? I'm not really interested in ripping, just using as a standard usb cd-player. Thanks.

It is not a cd player, maybe you need a CD reader :beerchug:

Just bought the "transparent bluetooth" version in Amazon, came up as available, free shipping.. couldn't resist. Now to wait until late january/early february to arrive. Bought so many FiiO devices that well, I had to, as I'm quite intent on going back to CD (i'll still buy vinyl and do streaming but I have a zillion great CDs). My only doubt was about the quality/material/scratchability of the transparent lid, but I guess I'll find out :D A protector case would be a great accesory perhaps. This may sound silly but I will also miss it not having the FiiO logo in the cover but well you can't have it all. Really looks so, so cool.

My use case is desktop mode in some place around my computer/living room. After reading the whole thing here this is my take:
- Don't care about ripping I have a computer/External CD Drive for that
- FLAC (not MP3) reading is quite .. important to me. Hope that works well.
- I care about the BT output even if it's not top notch
- As per reports the ESP doesn't seem to be necessary, especially in my use case.
Some reports here about skips are worrying, I hope they're fixed with fw updates (and please make FW updates available on the site if they're not! :) )

This is a nice, compact CD player. I'm very happy with its features and the way it sounds but the gapless issue is a nuisance. Very strange how its such a random issue. Looking forward to getting access to the firmware update that resolves this. I've experienced one skip during playback of a long CD, so hopefully that issue will be fixed by a firmware update too.

Yeah I have a tabletop player so this will be for the fun of rediscovering music in different ways. I like it's compact but don't care about carrying it, so it's perfect.
The random gapless issue is strange (out of the top of my head I can only think of Dark Side Of The Moon or Marillion's Misplaced Childhood or Abbey Road in my collection? but sure there's a ton more :) ) I also read about the skips in *long CDs* specifically. From what I've read here the FiiO engineering/testing team didn't have that much of a CD collection to try more different cases?

I certainly hope the new firmwares correct these. The unit I ordered had just been made available so I guess it'll come with the latest (22.2 I think?).

Did you try a FLAC files burned disk? Sounds intriguing and quite useful.

Why are you interested in FLAC files on a CD ? To me you can barely fit 2 or max. 3 albums on a single CD, so what is the advantage ??? I'm just curious...

It's not groundbreaking of course :dt880smile: but 2, 3 or 4 albums in a CD can be convenient in some cases. I mean, I plan to make some compilations myself (a major advantage on vinyl records and even cassettes, as it's easy, fast and best-sounding!)

OK, for a compilation of ~30-40 titles, I see the point now !
It is true that I calculate using a 50% compression ratio but sometimes it can be better I guess, depending on the music itself.
