Two different aptX devices that I have available (headphones and speakers) fail to connect via aptX and instead only connect via SBC.DM13 will automatically adapt to aptX HD when the headset supports aptX HD.
I see this as a problem.

No it does not. Both my headphones use aptx hd in ALL my other devices that support it except for the Dm13. I’m repeating this again so it’s clear to you.DM13 will automatically adapt to aptX HD when the headset supports aptX HD.
Please note that the Bluetooth protocol requires a handshake from both sides, and SBC will only be selected when we, DM13, can't query the protocol supported by your headset side, this is the working mechanism of both sides.![]()
I am fully aware of what to expect from it and I bought it for less than 125 dollars. and just for your info, I’ve been in this audio game for more than 35 years. I’m not an audiophile or an audio expert but my point here is that They shouldn’t advertise the features of the player if it’s not ready for prime time. Like I said, it’s just a CD player and nothing more. It pays to read and understand the posts here properly and then join in. Have a nice day. It’s funny that posters on here forget that this device costs €150 but they want so much more from it,at the end of the day it’s a portable CD player not a high end one for high end hifi equipment,as far as I’m concerned it’s perfect for me to listen to all my CDs that were once redundant up until this machine got released and I for one find nothing wrong with for the money I spent on,I’ve probably spent about €200 on this device with my Austrian headphones and I can’t complain, surely when other posters bought this device they too must’ve known what to expect from it

Hello Friend,
no sound in the first second when the CD starts--- this problem can not be solved, it will bring other new problems, we will avoid this problem in the subsequent product design, I'm very sorry!
It is expected that the next version of DM13 software will solve the following problems:
1, the first second sometimes can not be read, are trying to cancel the very beginning of direct play, you can try to play it by yourself
2, optimize the charging of the power display
3, to improve the ability of read some discs
Currently submitted to the technicians to modify , but the completion of the time is not sure, but now the V25 firmware, compared to other CD products, has been very good. You can use it with confidence.![]()
Yes indeed. Have noticed that too. The constant wear on the lenses also worry me. I’m actually beginning to regret buying this DM13 as FiiO as usual defends their products and claim everything is ok and software updates to fix these problems take forever to come. I would recommend anyone thinking of buying the DM13, to look elsewhere. It’s not a CD player that’s rock solid and ready for prime time. It’s a beta product and we were fools to beta test the device for FiiO. This is probably my last product from FiiO for a long time. If they knew what they were doing, a software update to fix all the issues highlighted in this thread should’ve been released by now as the last update was in January. That speaks a lot on their commitment to their customers. @FiiO Willson what’s your excuse this time??I got one and I am very pleased with sound. I still have my original Sony discern and what I've noticed is that the music in the fiio plays without any disruption but the cd player sound like it is constantly loading and reading. Sounds like the cd player constantly loads and buffers which is not really normal. Anyone else had the same experience?
I eco your concern considering that my Sony has a very smooth operation. I bought mine from Amazon and will be returning it. It’s not what I hoped for and this constant laser movement is an accident waiting to happen.Yes indeed. Have noticed that too. The constant wear on the lenses also worry me. Hello Friend,Thanks for your support!I'm loving my FiiO DM13 right now minus a couple quirks, namely the first second of the track skipping (I have to press the back button on my player to get that first second to play. Currently on V25 firmware).
I just wanted to double check to clarify and see if I'm reading this correctly. In March, you mentioned that this problem could not be solved, but earlier this month, you said that the next version of the firmware will have this (or what reads as something similar to this) fixed. Are these just separate issues, or did the team determine that the first second skip was fixable?
Again, love the player. This one quirk being fixed would be the last thing needed to push it from a being a good to a great product for me.

Hello Friend,For the first time I experienced some seconds of music missing at the beginning of tracks, plus sudden freeze or skips of ~10 sec in the middle of a track. On this particular album (Vivaldi 4 seasons by Orchestre National de Toulouse - EMI Classics) I could even repeat it in different places of the disc, on different tracks... This is a pity, I was happy with this player until now. Hopefully I still have my desktop EC3 CD player that is able to read CDs normally, whithout buffering all the time and having issues just reading in a "linear" manner Red Book CDs...
The "concept" of the DM13 is really great, but as a real product it is "half baked"
Now I can just wait for possible future upgrades that will maybe solve some of theses issues...

Many folks have explained this issue so many times and you simply ignore the posts or pretend to not understand.Hello Friend,
"whithout buffering all the time"~~~Means what?
When you press the pause button and the disc rotation completely stops, then press start play, there will be a 7 second period where the CD does not rotate, this is so that there will be sound output as soon as you start playing, and the movement will have time to orient itself to where it was before.
When you the first button and the last button pressed at the same time (i.e. stop state), then it will respond immediately.
