In case some of you haven't seen it, Fiio posted this on Facebook. First time I see the translucent cover.

Love the translucent cover, but the pop of that red unit is pretty sweet too. My home office can use some color.

No.

You will need a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable for your E17k.

It is not clear how the DM13 will switch between coax output or line out, since they share the same port. Through a connected app maybe?

Or maybe the supplied cable will short one channel and the DM13 will then enter coax mode, in which case you would need a mono cable, not a stereo one.

I'm guessing here. Perhaps @FiiO Willson knows the answer already?

The Fiio Alpen E17k 2 DAC came with a 3.5 (TR male) to coaxial (female) cable -- pictured here. Will the DM13 cable be 3.5 to coaxial (male) to connect with this pictured cable? Or will a 3.5 to 3.5 (TR male to TR male) suffice?

Yes, a 3.5 to 3.5mm cable will be ok.
If you can, it's best to use a 3.5 to 3.5 coaxial cable

Sorry , DM13 can not send USB format audio to other device.
DM13 can output WAV format file of the CD's to USB Storage or PC

Perhaps you should edit that previous post. The term 'USB Audio Out' means you can connect it to a USB DAC.

If I've understood correctly, the DM13 can act as a CD drive for a PC so it is a USB Client device, not a USB Host.

This. I also was under the impression that I can connect the DM13 to an external dac. I was excited about this because I use the Topping D50 III, which has built in PEQ that only works with USB input.

You are right, We need more time to complete the technology turnover, and expect this feature（USB digital Audio Out） to be implemented in the next generation of CD players

DM13 supports gapless playback, support for adding favorites, and support for loop playback

No, you can use the software of Windows and MAC, They are both good enough
