Stuck and cannot upgrade. I've managed to reboot. Still V25.Are you two actually stuck in update mode? Or does it just not upgrade and remain at version 25?

I’m the same tooI’m stuck in update mode...
I had no problems upgrading from V22 to V25 and I’m following the exact same procedure, but now it doesn’t work...
Yes - had to switch device off after a minute. Upgrade didn't complete from V25.Stuck and cannot upgrade. I've managed to reboot. Still V25.

Did you make sure you put the USB stick in the 'Power In' socket, and the USB power lead into the 'USB Rec' socket?I’m the same too

I thought I had the same problem as you guys, but then realised I hadn't fully pushed the USB power lead into the 'USB Rec' socket. Once I'd done that it took about ten seconds to upgrade. Maybe worth double checking?
Hope that helps!

Is the DM13 worth it? Won't the CDs get scratched during use? I don't want my CD collection to suffer any problems. I want to pair it with my SMSL DL200.

Not if you're careful putting the discs in and taking them out. No different to any legacy portable CD player. And not that different to most non-portable CD players for that matter. I've been using both types for nearly forty years, and my CDs still play fine.Is the DM13 worth it? Won't the CDs get scratched during use? I don't want my CD collection to suffer any problems. I also can't update... I've tried to update from v25 to v27 (I'm having the BT version), but it gets stuck on 'update---'.

Was able to get mine updated from v25 to v27, I feel like it took a bit longer than updating from v22 to v25 though.
For those having issues, make sure that you have the USB drive in the POWER-IN outlet and your power cable plugged into the USB-REC outlet. When booting back up from the update, the display comes up super-dim as well.
First, the bad news. Unfortunately, gapless playback on Enhanced CDs is still NOT working correctly. I was hoping that this is what "Optimized disc reading experience for some CDs" meant, but apparently not. The wait time between tracks seems to have been reduced (around 1-2 seconds), but this is still a problem.
The issue is even more apparent with the new decision to display the total run time of the disc prior to playing, since any Enhanced CD will display the number of tracks on disc as files (EXAMPLE "F01 F##") instead of the total track number and total run time of the disc (EXAMPLE "12 43:53").
Now, the good news. The player appears to be doing more of a "linear" read off of the disc than previously. CDs appear to be spinning more normally (slowing down as it gets to the outer edge) instead of constantly speeding up and slowing down as before, and pausing the disc will still have the CD spin instead of coming to a stop like before. This is with either ESP off or on.
Will spin a few CDs over the next few nights to see if I can pick up on any other behavior.

update applied without problem. finally it behaves like a real cd player (without autoplay).

You mean you didn’t test the firmware before releasing it? If you did why does it behave differently for different people using the same cd player? I really don’t understand this.sorry, If it stucks, pls turn on the D.Mode, then DM 13 should be off, then turn off the D.MODE to see whether it can power on.
Updated from V25 to V27 with no problems whatsoever. Thanks!
So - follow same instruction but just make sure D Mode is on before carrying out the steps you set out?

Dear Friend,if your DM13 won't upgrade, please confirm:
1, whether your USB flash drive is FAT32, and whether it has been formatted before upgrading, according to our understanding, it is easier to fully format the USB flash drive before upgrading.
2, please make sure to insert the correct interface: USB flash disk into POWER IN, and USB power into USB REC interface.
3, please make sure it is in power on state, long press the last button to upgrade.
4, some users feedback that the previous large-capacity USB flash drive can be upgraded, but now can not be upgraded, if you also encountered this situation, please replace the USB flash drive with 32G and below.
If you also encounter this situation, please replace the USB flash drive with one of 32G or less, because the servo system of CD is the chip program of many years ago, so the upgrade is not so smart, please understand.
---
Note,
Power failure during the upgrade process, or for some unknown reasons, can cause the upgrade to turn into a brick, if your DM13 is used satisfactorily, it is not recommended that you upgrade!

Hi. I did exactly the same steps you've described when I've tried to update and as I said in a previous post it gets stuck displaying 'update---'. It's not bricked but also it doesn't update. I did the same steps when I've updated to v25 (then I've used the same USB drive and the same power adapter) and I didn't have any problem...Dear Friend,if your DM13 won't upgrade, please confirm:
