I'll love to see it supporting LDAC output to BTR15 / BTR7 and also able to be controlled wirelessly by BTR15 / BTR7. If you can't do LDAC, aptx Adaptive should be minimum.

DM13 is the basic model for us, Maybe LDAC will be build in DM15 :L3000:

Can you comment on gapless playback support?

Interesting, looking forward to hearing more about it :)
Would be great if it can be used as a small desktop solution as well.

Lots of new info today!

It will be available later in more colours (colors).

It will have analogue line out, SPDIF out (optical by all accounts) and USB out.

It will run from the mains, presumably from a wall wart or brick PSU, as well as the rechargeable battery which is good for 8 hours.

No word on whether the battery is user replaceable (is it @FiiO ?)

It will have Bluetooth transmission including AptX HD. No LDAC.

It will also play files from CD-Rs including FLAC and AAC.

Fingers crossed that it handles gapless/pre-gap/etc correctly. After the EC Mini debacle I'm skeptical of anything new, but I would really love this if it works like a normal CD player should. AptX HD is "ok" but LDAC would have been nice. It doesn't matter a ton to me anyway since I'm most likely going to use Bluetooth with the Grado GW100x, which only does AptX HD.

I've got an old Walkman spinner coming today with optical out, which I plan to use with the Chord Mojo 2. I hope the FiiO makes for a good modern replacement!

That makes it super interesting especially with a translucent cover 😊
Where did you get this information?

Good news Fiio! I use cd's on my headphone and desktop room where I spend most of my day... and vinyls on the dinning room when I'm home alone only :D

CD transports tend to be very expensive compared with the difference of quality they give in return, a cheap one sounds pretty close to a very expensive one.
In size are huge for a desktop place between your amp, dacs, computer monitors and speakers... so something like this to connect the digital output to your DAC is great.
I know it's more focused on the portable side which I would skip but if it's silent could play both roles.

I would prefer just a compact cd transport, but nice to offer a new practical CD after your cassette.
