It really annoys me that it’s not possible to deactivate or customise ‘’select operation mode‘’. I switch song by accident everyday.

@FiiO Can you please fix this? It’s such a bad solution, and should be an easy fix for you to at least deactivate.

I happen to agree with the observation that FiiO should have included a larger battery at the cost of wireless charging and a bit more volume, but I also know that if I gotten what I wanted others would have bemoaned its size and lack of wireless charging!
One of the reasons I picked the BTR7 over the BTR5 *was* the wireless charging, that way if it runs out of juice and I’m not able to plug it in I can recharge it off the back of my phone. I’ve successfully put that to the test, too. Personally I think it’s an ok trade-off, but I’m also not usually using power-hungry headphones with my BTR7

Love the btr7 which I have since a couple of months now. A point of improvement for me would be more steps in the volume control. With some iems a chosen volume is too low but going up a notch is too loud (to my liking).

Did you try switching to low gain?

Does anyone know if the 4.4 balanced output would have trouble driving Hifiman HE400SE?

I'm new to this and I'm struggling to work it out. Going by sensitivity and impedance it seems like it should be okay, but then I've read things saying planar magnetics are generally more difficult to drive than dynamic drivers, and the numbers don't always give the full picture...

Have you tried UAPP?

Still sounds tons better than crappy AAC, and it's lossless for RedBook bitrate.
How do you figure?

Redbook rate = 1,411 kbps
LDAC 990 = 990 kbps

Even in 100% perfect conditions, LDAC still has to throw away 421 kbps of data. That ain’t lossless.

All I’m saying is - sure, you can crap on iPhones for not supporting the best Bluetooth CODEC standards… but it’s ultimately a minor-league argument when connecting a damn wire is superior performance on either platform anyway.

For SQ, wired > Bluetooth, plain and simple.
