I was never able to pair/connect my WF-1000XM5 to the BT-W6 using LC3. I hope you have better luck with the eppfun.

Hmm, I was able to pair it using LC3 with my Galaxy S23. I hope I can get it tomorrow, otherwise I'll get it on Monday.

Thank you for the clarification, I understand what you are trying to achieve now.

Yes, you should be able to do exactly as you describe, though about aptX Lossless it's impossible to know if it's actually connected using that codec since FiiO lumps that in with aptX Adaptive. Anyways, I did some testing with my BTR13 and I was able to pair them together on the first try for aptX Adaptive/Lossless, with the BT11 connected to my Fold 5. For playing audio I disabled Bluetooth on my phone just to be sure the audio was being played through the BT11.

When you are trying to pair the BT11 and BTR17 together, are both in pairing mode at the same time?
So I'am able to connect the BTR17 to the BT11 via bluetooth after doing a firmware update for the BTR17, I still cannot select codecs though it defaults to LDAC and its not very stable, but its a start in the right direction.

You can try disconnecting bt11 from btr17, connect to the phone, then just deselect LDAC and leave only 1 codec (I suggest trying AptX Adaptive). Sometimes you need to do it again for bt11 to save the changes. Then it's better to clear the pairing list and try to connect to btr17.

Positive experience.

Bt11 pairs easily with Edifier w830nb over LDAC. This is a new HP with the newest BT tech (AAC and LDAC only). The sound is good with AAC over the iphone (apple music lossless source) but AAC just as always crashes high frequencies. The same source over LDAC sounds great via the BT11. I must add, I had zero problems with connection (iphone 15 pro) and I switched the BT off on the phone (watch still stays connected by the way).

The BT11 connected to Beoplay H7 as well over AptX. Sounds better to me than AAC, no harsh crashes, however LDAC is more convincing (this is not AptX HD)

So I absolutely recommend the BT11 with up to date Bluetooth gear for the iPhone. I would like to press once more (as this is somehow forgotten in this thread) that the LDAC sound is fantastic, totally worth it over AAC from lossless sources.

I listen over an AKG k701 wired for critical sessions so I can compare to that as well.... For what the Edifier w830nb is it's very good with the BT11 over LDAC.

I am interested in the functionality of the Bluetooth codecs aptxHD audio and aptx Adaptive audio for an Android device.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra phone, and I want to connect the Bluetooth headphones Dali IO-12 to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra using FIIO BT11 (codecs aptxHD audio and aptx Adaptive audio).
Do you have any positive experience with the FIIO BT11 device working with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra?

If using the BT11 with a Macbook, will the native volume keys on the Macbook be able to control volume as usual or would I need to do volume using the volume knob on the headphones?
Using the iPhone the volume on the headphone needs to be adjusted once when you connect the headphones for the very first time. That's it. Any subsequent connection the volume is already set to where you adjusted it to (probably the loudest setting) and you adjust the volume further with the playing device's keys only (not the headphones). I assume every device is working this way.

I have been there with FiiO on multiple occasions with the LC-BT2 the BTA30 PRO and the FW5's, all of which are/were basically abandonware soon after release with a few FW updates if that.

They promised to fix everything by the end of the month - 3 days left and there is silence and the dead are standing with scythes!
In fairness it is the lunar new year, Chinese company so do the math.

That has little to do with it, the rep stated the end of January, he should have just said the end of February to play it safe.
I'm as frustrated with the BT11 as much as the next person but having a rant about it on a public forum during Chinese new year is really pointless.

Actually they said there won't be a release at the end of January but they postponed it to an uncertain later date. My unit still works flawlessly by the way. I really think that there is a lots of user error while others using the device. My suggestion:

1. You don't need the app at all.

2. Turn the phone's Bluetooth off when using the BT11.

3. Use the headphone's physical volume controls after the first pairing.
