[FIIO BT11] Portable High-Res Bluetooth Transmitter Is Officially Released!

Hmmm interesting.
But when im using the BT W6 if i switch to APTX Adaptive HQ the problem goes away. Searching the Net there were quite a few people having the same problem even on the BT W5 only in low latency adaptive mode.

I dont think its only the connected since when i try the BTR15 with my PC Bluetooth using alternative a2dp driver to get APTX LL i dont get any dropouts.
Not sure why my BT11 has those small dropouts though.
But maybe its a compability issue? Would be weird though with both being FIIO Devices.

As a side note: Do you notice a difference in quality between adaptiv LL and LL? since LL should have higher bitrate with the adaptive LL implementation limiting bitrate to 279 kbit/s .

Yes I have also read about people getting issues on Adaptive LL Mode and also on earbuds than have their own Gaming Mode but I honestly have not had any issue.

I do not have a set of earbuds that do both so cannot do an apples to apples test but aptX Adaptive is said to sound as good or better than its older aptX counterparts (aptX/LL/HD) at lower bitrates due to its more efficient/advanced compression.

aptX LL is 16/44.1 (not sure it even has a 48k option like aptX does) and movie/game tend to be 24/48.

It does have a 48k option, im using that one. Do i lose out on much if i have APTX LL with 16/48 vs the aptx adaptive LL 24/48?
Since the BT11 atleast has less dropouts than the bt w6 and all the other adaptive Dongles including BT11 have a too high latency on the adaptive mode since it doesnt have a dedicated Adaptive LL.
Or did you find a way to get a lower latency on the adaptive mode of the BT11 comparable to the BT W6?

I just checked and so it does have 48k, not sure why the tables/charts omit this but show it for aptX.

On the rare occasion I use earbuds for movies (very late night) I use my FiiO Neckband+FH3's and choose aptX HD (24/48) to connect to my Nvidia Shield which I set to use Codec via the BCC App sideloaded as it saves me disabling all other Codecs in the FiiO App to force it.

I get no lip-sync issues esp. as the modern distances me sit for HD/4k viewing unlike the SD I grew up viewing it from across the other side of the room.

This doesn't happen for me on iPhone 15 Pro or my MacBook Air M2. I assume you guys are referring to the Apple Music app?

I don't see anything in settings that would cause this. Very odd and confusing. Have you turned off all of your Airplay devices? I'm not sure why Airplay would have anything to do with USB audio (other than the ability to switch outputs in the Apple Music app).
^^^^ iTunes on Mac 18.1 ditto...

I redoubled my efforts to stop Apple Music from auto opening on my Air M2 after reading rlw6534's posts, thank you ~ success.

I did the shotgun approach and not sure what worked. There are lots of 'How To' guides on the web.

Okay i did more testing using both the BT11 and the BT W6.
The BT11 is flawless in LDAC but just unusable in APTX Low Latency with the BTR15. Constant small dropouts/Crackling.
The BT W6 is flawless in the APTX Adaptive HQ Mode; But has dropouts/ sporadic crackling in the APTX Adaptive Low Latency Mode. These are not as frequent as the ones on the APTX LL Mode of the BT11 though.

I dont think its the Problem of the BTR15 though, since using my PCs Bluetooth from the Z690 Motherboard with alternative A2DP Driver i have flawless Audio in both LDAC and APTX Low Latency.
The BT W6 Issue could be a compability of the devices, since some people dont seem to have any problems and some do. I dont have any other APTX Enabled devices to test this.

I really hope the BT11 APTX Low latency dropouts can be fixed via a firmware update. Any Info on that @FiiO Willson? Thanks for the help!

I just got my BT11 too. Using it with the BTR15 and Edition XS headphones.
LDAC works without problems, but since i want to use the device on my PS5 i have to switch to APTX Adaptive or APTX LL for a usable latency.
BT 11 Adaptive has a latency that is too high, its not usable in Games. With the BT W6, that i also have here to test, the Adaptive Profile has a low latency version that does work with a good enough latency but it has audio crackling/Dropouts in the LL mode; thats why i actually got the BT11.

Now Switching to APTX Low Latency on the BT11 gets a perfect latency, but i sadly get minor dropouts/crackling as well.
Is this a known issue and can maybe get patched out?? Anyone else with this issue in the Low latency mode or is it maybe just a defective unit?
Or is there even any aptx Low Latency dongle that doesnt have these short dropouts?
We'll follow up with an update to open LE AUDIO, but it'll take 2-4 weeks to work it out! :beerchug:

BT11 APP to be updated (2~3 weeks update):
1, Lossless independent, LE AUDIO function on/off option
2, LDAC transmission bit rate selection (biased sound quality connection/biased stability/both sound quality and stability)
3, Paired list
4, aptX adaptive Low Latency & High Bandwidth mode, and Gaming Mode:beerchug:

Oh that sounds awesome!
What codec does the gaming mode belong to? LE Audio with LC3? Or even GMAP? Or part of APTX Adaptive?

Fiio bt 11+ Creative Ace 2+ Xiaomi redmi note 9 pro. I used to listen to Aptx adaptive. Today I turned on Aptx lossless. For the first time in 25 years of listening, I heard a pick on the strings of the guitars of AC / DC You Shook Mee All Night Long. And visualization of the impact on the bass drum. The scene became deeper. A sense of relief in the midrange. When you call, the music stops. You can make calls. But there is a problem. The Fiio control application does not work at all, for some reason. Does not see Bt11. I just connect bt 11 to the smartphone in usb. Bluetooth is off. I turn on Foobar 2000. The equalizer also works. Blinks green. On the laptop, too, no problems

Why could you not hear that before from a CD over Speakers (the way we are supposed to hear things) or ear/headphones?

I had the same experience with Dire Straits, I had the cassette tape and then got the CD in 1986/7 and could hear the sound his lips made (that kind of puck sound that we sometime do then the saliva sound) as he opened his mouth in the Brothers In Arms Track on the same Album.

EDIT: Same with Pink Floyd - A Momentary Lapse of Reason, I could hear more of the backing singers on the CD over the cassette tape.
