All of those are valid points but I still don't have AM3D, also FiiO updated the firmware for Q5s, but the ASIO is still not active.

Unless you need ASIO, WASAPI is the preferred option.

Yes, I use WASAPI, but the Windows 10 driver is broken and if I play DSD file the Q5s front light stays blue. If I play it on my phone, the light turns green, as it should be:

Why? If the licensing is the problem they can just release AM3Ds which is AM3D without the THX badge. Anyway the prevailing opinion is that there is no much sound difference with the stock Q5s AM3E. I suppose this will ease the pain when I buy the upcoming Monolith THX AAA 887. Win win situation.

If this is the case, how does not having a licence hinder the M11 Pro. Or is it that just the AM3D is hit. Either way, pleased that I took the risk and got an AM3D in the first run batch in May.

Wow, I guess I was super lucky then. It sounds so much better than my AM3A that I never looked back. I hope they will be able to sort the licensing issue out, seems strange to have to discontinue it over something like that.

I am seeing a lot of that. Though I know I will have my AM3D module on Friday.

Now if only I still had a working X7mkII. but that's up to another 2 months away before I have that again...grrrr...

My X7ii is heading back from China after FiiO agreed to fix it. The screen developed white lines and the volume wheel was becoming less responsive. From, posting out, to FiiO sending out for delivery took 4 weeks. However, FiiO have indicted stricter customs control in China so delivery could take up to a month. I got an Q5s on the first release batch and have been using my AM3D, I am thinking of adding the AM3E to my X7ii as not having 2.5 balance out on the AM3D limits what headphones/IEMs I can use. Now having said all of that I realised that I use the LDAC on the Q5s, so do I need the AM3D on the Q5s. Oh the problems with a FiiO eco-system,
