My main issue with the BTR5 other than the 2.5mm jack is getting it to play from the laptop via USB when BT is enabled on my phone. I hope this switch solves that.
Dear friend,

Yes!

Introduction of the three modes

Toggle the mode switch to select the mode you want to use.
PC mode: Toggle the switch to the top. The BTR15 will enter the USB decoding mode for desktop devices, and can be powered through USB.
BT mode: Toggle the switch to the middle. The BTR15 will enter the Bluetooth receiving mode, and can be powered through USB.
PHONE mode: Toggle the mode switch to the bottom. The BTR15 will enter the decoding mode for mobile phones, and will be disabled from USB charging (The device will be forced to charge if it is powered off for low battery).

Best regards

The graphic says otherwise..

The fact that our phones are powered by internal battery does not mean those can not be powered via the charging port…

My supposition is the following (@FiiO please confirm/infirm):
  • PC mode: internal components powered by USB power, charging disabled (desktop mode)
  • BT mode: internal components powered by battery, charging enabled (the only mode that will allow battery charging?)
  • PHONE mode: internal components powered by battery, charging disabled
@FiiO I would also be interested in what happens with QCC5125 and XU316 in each mode, how/if are those chips powered in each mode. Is QCC5125 disabled (not powered?) in PC and PHONE modes, and XU316 disabled (not powered?) in BT mode? That would help with power consumption while battery powered and also reduce heat on all modes (if a chip uses power it will, most probably, generate heat).

My interpretation is that it charges in PC and BT modes, but not in PHONE mode.
