Got the software update on an original Wandla and must say... impact+ is gonna be highly headphone dependent, and I'm not too interested in spatial enhancements - but the tube mode is absolutely for me. On any headphone, but the Arya Organic especially grabbed me yesterday with tube mode on.

I turned it on and off and on again to try to hear what it does, and it is so subtle when I A/B, but with it on, everything is just a bit more full and alive. This is gonna be my default from now on.

Updated my Wandla yesterday with the Goldensound Edition. Listened a couple of hours yesterday and today with the Caldera Open and Closed. All the options are clearly audible when selected especially so the Impact+ and Spatial Enhancement. The tube mode is more subtle but welcome with the Oor amplifier. I’ve not tried with the Cayin HA-6A yet. The Caldera Open, being the overall better headphone more clearly displayed the effects, and to very good effect. I can’t see turning off the options; it’s actually surprising how much the performance of the already excellent Wandla was elevated. The flexibility of this DAC is rather amazing and I’m super stoked to listen via the Ferrum stack, which was always very good but now it’s got more emotional engagement. Kudos to Goldensound and Ferrum on a job well done.

I so far love the Wandla (GSE)!
Setup: Magna Manno as Source, Ferrum Oor as amp and Susvara as driver. Hypsos powers both DAC and amp.

Works well together; I can leave the Oor in its native medium gain setting and make full use of the I^2S connection. Before I had the Gustard R26 and adding the Magna Mano streamer was not that much of an upgrade sound wise as expected.
I use Impact+ and Tube More all the time and to my ears they make a larger difference for the better. Spacial Enhancement I am not quite sure yet; sometimes I prefer the more intimate presentation of going without. The option to experiement with the filters and voltages is nice but leaves such a large parameter space to be explored.

Comparison to R26:
- much more detail: could now clearly distinguish guitar and vioce doubling, more engaging reverb
- slightly larger soundstange: might also be due to better balanced overall setup
- more precise imaging: very neat presentation where before things were washed out more
- less siblance: huge difference, as the filters are much more efficient in unfolding this part of the spectrum more naturally
- better dynamics: fast sounds like the snare drum and plucky guitar sounds are so jucy now
- clearer bass: clearly much more base texture and controll
Of course the R26 is half the price, but the upgrade is huge, which is rare, given the diminishing returns.

Other side notes:
- remote controll is nice and I use it a lot
- well fitting and efficient Ferrum eco system
- looks good + small form factor
