I love this amp but I have went tube crazy! One reason I purchased the espressivo is the 6922 option the Elise and Ephoria had more tube options that worried my bill fold. I spent more then double on tubes then the amp. But I am sure having fun rolling theses tubes. Today just recieved a match pair of Amperex 6922 USA white print d getter. They sound spectacular out the box. I have a pair of telefunkens 6922 on the way. I can't wait to do a full comparing of all the tubes I have.

I'm looking forward to reading your write up on all the tubes you have. I never went crazy on tubes for this amp as the GE 5670 W tubes are perfect for me.

Hi all

I’ve been a reader for sometime but only just joined the forum, I have kept a keen eye on your Feliks threads.

I have just bought a Feliks echo and am using this with a rega p3 and AKG Y50 headphones. I know the nominal impedance on these is too low and I plan on upgrading in the next week or so.

The amp currently has 10 hours of burn in with the stock tubes. So my question is this; will the sound significantly improve with new cans of higher impedance and more burn in time?

The new cans I’m thinking of are DT770s or the Sennheiser HD600s

Go with HD600's, burn in of the tubes won't make a huge difference, but the headphones will :D

Enjoy the Echo, and post pictures!

I totally agree with @ostewart. The tubes may open up slightly, but probably won't change significantly. I currently use HD600 with the espressivo and they are a great match. If I'm not mistaken the dt770s are a brighter headphone. The HD600s are quite neutral. I bought the HD600s after trying a pair of grados and couldn't be happier. The grados were way too bright for me.
