The Takatsuki have their own niche imo. They sound very clear and detailed, on ER300B level imo and therefore a step above WE300B or Stradi in that discipline.
The Takatsuki have a slightly emphasized treble, there is lots of sparkling energy up top. Potentially too much for brighter headphones or system pairings.
At the same time they are a little leaner in the bass than all the other mentioned variants.
All while keeping the sought after 300B magic in the midrange. Here they sit between Elrog and Stradi (also between Elrog and WE)
They have a slightly lean, very clear and detailed sound to them. Microdetails are exceptionally well presented.
This signature makes their strengths match exactly the weaknesses of my Meze headphones. Imo the synergy between the old Meze house sound and Takatsuki 300B is through the roof!
This matches my impressions as well. If the lowend would be a bit better (it's by no means terrible), the Takas would be a really strong contender for the very best 300B's, the Elrog TM's. The midrange is fantastic, the treble is outstanding.

I also think that it's not optimal with the Immanis, it gets too much treble. The Valkyria is sounding truly outstanding with the Takas.
Can get them a lot cheaper than that BTW, same or less than a new pair of WE.
I mean, you're free to show us where, or pm @ThanatosVI .

Any thought on the Taks specifically with the Caldera Closed?

The combination is ok. The TM's are obviously better, but i think normal Elrogs would also be a better fit. The Western Electric are also very good. I think the CC does not benefit from the added sparkly airiness and is much better with either WE's or ER's.

Just as well since I love the WE & ER so I can save money not chasing the Taks!

A long awaited upgrade for my Envy PE - 1999 (I think!) WE 300B’s!

Love how they sound coming from the stock Full Music 300B tubes. I immediately noticed improved detail retrieval and clarity, while still maintaining hefty and punchy bass. A worthwhile upgrade!

They even glow blue in the dark 😍😍😍

NICE!!!!

Long before I needed any 300B, I recall seeing old and HUGE $$$ WE.
I just saw some from 1998 production for about $3K.
I have no idea how the very old original WE 300B compare these made in the late 1990's or current production.

Love the WE blue glow!

Looking forward to joining you soon, hoping they have a place along side TM!

The holy trifecta and the godking of tubes:

Sadly everytime i get the ER's in, they also leave me after a short time. Someday i will get a pair for myself, despite having the TM's.

I really don't think you need ERs.
You have TMs which are like Super ERs.

MOs are unique enough to have, if one likes the sound.
Or go with others Stradi/EML/ACME/Linlai whatever, for additional flavors

Yeah, i had them and didn't love them that much in comparison to my tubes that i've settled with now. Their midrange was just unremarkable, an aspect the 300B platform really shines with normally.
Allthough i never heard them with the Valkyria and Unveiled, which they might synergize with...
Maybe if i see a pair on the used market next year or so i'll try go get it.
You are the Stradi boy, so keep buying those and tell us how they sound!

At some point I'll test the others, but today there are other expenses lined up...

Welcome to the club! I read the blue glow might vanish at some point, unfortunately, because it is the effect from leftover gases that disappear with extended use. Will see..

What are the major differences between WE300, ER and ER TMs?

I read the WE300 are more „tubey“ and mid forward while ERs more neutral. How do they differ and does it make sense to complement the WE300s with ER/ER TMs?

There are already a lot of comparison posts in this thread from me and others, you can use the search function with my name.

TLDR: Yes, WE's have the typical tube sound, warm, wet, musical, lush, but with rolled off treble and subbass and a very nice decay. ER's are crystal clear, very fast (no decay), crisp (but never sharp), extremely detailed, exceptionally dynamic, not rolled off in either direction, but they tend to miss that special musicality.
Elrog MO's have that signature turned up to 11, the most detailed / dynamic, solid state sounding tubes i've heard, but they seriously lack any musicality in the midrange (i think the ER's are actually better in that aspect). They are truly impressive from a technical point though.
The Elrog TM's are perfection: They have 90% of all the technicalities of the Elrog house sound, but with added musicality and a decay that is to die for (which you miss in the normal Elrogs and normally have only with tubes that are more musical, like the WE's). They not only combine everything that's good, they just have no flaw or drawback. Except their ridiculous pricepoint, and the fact that they may not be as durable as the other Elrogs. I hope that mine will survive many more years.

WE's and ER's make a great complementary combination to swap them in and out depending on the mood / headphone. And of course you get double the tubes lifetime than with one single pair.
Taks have outstanding treble and also a great midrange, they lack some heft in the lowend though, otherwise they would be seriously nuts for their price.
