Favorite Classical Composer?

Mahler. I can appreciate Bach, but even having been a music major, I still don't care to listen to Bach. Or Mozart. Or even Beethoven.

Shotakovich is another favorite, as well as Prokofiev. Wagner, Bruckner, R. Strauss... I guess I like late romantic and on.

Beethoven. Yes, the ultimate cliche, as he is likely what people with no knowledge of music can think of when they think "classical". Yet the simplicity and passion in his music are unmatched.

This is not easy, but if I had to choose one, I'd say Richard Strauss. I love this tone poems and operas and have since I was a teenager oh so many years ago.

If I'm feeling a little down, Vivaldi is great pick me up.

For years my absolute favorite classical album was Paul Jacobs playing Debussy's Images and Estampes. I bought it on a whim because of the album cover and was overwhelmed by the music.
