Love: Well, my first love is the saxophone since I play it (classical mostly, but I'm a big jazz fan too). Flute is great too, a versatle instrument, and it's a lot of fun to play...this makes me want to go dust off my flute. But I enjoy pretty much most instruments with the exception of...

Hate: Clarinet. I've never liked this instrument, not only it's sound, but playing it isn't terribly enjoyable. I used to like the bagpipes, but then I dated a girl that played bagpipes. Now I don't like them, but I guess it isn't the bagpipes fault.

The most fun to play are tubas and sousaphones.  One of the coolest instruments is the Hammond Novachord, the first synthesizer back in 1938.  I'd love to get my hands on one.
 
I don't hate any instrument, but there are a lot of poorly used ones.
 
Though, does Autotune count as an instrument?

The solo stuff is whatever, but it does not belong to be put in the mix with anything else, it just makes everything sound like crap.

Loathe: Not really an instrument, but the loud repetitive synthetic bass that's used in a lot of pop music, especially rap. Also, drums when the drummer spazzes out with the bass drum.
 
So, basically loud repetitive bass strikes a nerve with me.
