you can find that most CD player, DVD , SACD player have stander 2.0Vrms line out signal. I can't comment about wikipedia but I work in audio industry for over 20 years and you can trust me.

I have been using the X3's LO with a variety of amps with no problem. ADCOM GFP 565 pre amp with GFA 555 amp, vintage Yamaha A550 integrated, Denon 5802 HT amp, Vuum The Amp tube amplifier, Fiio E9 and Fiio A1 combo, Fiio E17, with no distortion clipping issues. I do experience clipping using the cassette adapter in my minivan sound system however (don't laugh!).

yes, it is not our fault and should be solved by the amp manufacturer, btw, even our mimi portable amp , e6 can handle the standard line out signal ( 2V rms ) without problem if you set the eq mode to high input .

there are not default directory . each time you have to choose inside memory or TF card when you use the browser playback.

Most music clipped. It seems that the "digital volume" was set way out that it clipped.

The unfortunate fact is , because Apple went with a much lower line-out (about 0.55Vrms) on early days iDevices instead of the industry standard 2Vrms, many of the gear manufacturers have chosen to adopt the Apple standard over the common standard purely out of iDevices' popularity. The end result is that the gears that are designed to take a iPod line-out will clip on normal 2Vrms line-out (It is probably not going to help you that now Apple is going back to the 2Vrms line-out on their Lightning-to-30pins adapter and will clip your car's audio too).

Again, this is trivial to address with a simple in-line attenuator. Since it consists of two resistors per channel it won't affect sound quality.
 
Continuing to follow a flawed implementation example, even though popular, does not seem like the best answer.
Fiio did it right IMO.

James will be authoritative but to do this in firmware would require it to be done in the digital domain which I would imagine is a bad idea.

In fact, the battery life in 1.31 firmware already increase about 1 hours depended on our test. and once all the bugs are fixed and the UI work without any problem and very stable we will start to working in this issue.

How would you change LO level in firmware? I am curious. Seems like that would be fixed in the hardware design, unless the digital volume control is ahead of the LO...

yes, we can change it by firmware so maybe we will add an switcher in the playback settings.

Can anyone help me with my problem? I formatted my 64GB sandisk card to FAT using GUI format. That worked for my clip zip and for my j3. However when I put the card in the x3 and try to play it says "playback failed, file not found." It also shows that for the music stored on internal memory now too. This is even with the browser. When I take out the card I can play music that is on the X3. 

Also, I get a message asking if I want scan and fix the X3 when I plug it into my PC.

 
I have formatted the internal memory to 32k and also reformatted the card but no luck.

I also had a warning message from Windows saying the internal memory file system was likely damaged, and it was, I had to perform a chkdsk / f x: x being the X3 drive letter when mounted on the PC. After that it went well.

our engineer told me that it is because we have not our own USB ID, and we are applying for our own USB ID right now
