Allegory was something I have always been interested in.
Salvador Domènec Felip Jacint Dalí i Domènech, Marquis de Púbol (May 11, 1904 – January 23, 1989) was the first painter which I learned allegory from, even though the subjects were also a riddle at times. He also used optical illusions with allegory making it a double allegory within itself.

Rainbow dash dressed up as a shadow bolt (why do i know this). I like this picture because even people who don't like the show probably will like this picture. It's to awesome to be disliked.
I go to turntable.fm sometimes, a wonderful person named Boinga said I deserved a trophy for the music I played so she made a papier-mâché version of my turntable guy.

I have always liked the artwork of Renee Magritte and my favorite painting of his has always been "The Son of Man". The reason I chose it for my avatar has to do with my job as a mastering engineer/sound restoration specialist and how Magritte explained his painting. Magritte said the following:
Quote:
Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see. There is an interest in that which is hidden and which the visible does not show us. This interest can take the form of a quite intense feeling, a sort of conflict, one might say, between the visible that is hidden and the visible that is present.
Having studied sound quite a bit, I have always been fascinated by the concept of "masking" and how some sound hides other sounds. I have an inherent interest in finding those sound which are not usually heard and either fixing them, eliminating them or bringing them out more. When mastering or restoring, you are often in a sort of conflict of deciding what to do with the easily heard sounds and those which are not so easily heard.
I feel this painting perfectly illustrates my perception of sound.
In this version, he is wearing my favorite headphones, my Paradox Headphones.
Years ago Messenger online had an avatar designer (dnot know if it still exist) and this was the closest to a self portrait I could get with the elements available (not counting the color )
I'm a Kiwi (New Zealander), and Lamb/Sheep here outnumber the human population by about 10:1 (pop ~ 4.5m, lamb/sheep ~ 45m). I also work in the industry - selling Lamb around the world. Finally - avid follower of the national rugby team (All Blacks) + can be a bit of a black sheep at times anyway
