I prefer the Ziigaat Doscinco to the ie600.

I sort of like the IE600 but, despite that this is an appreciation thread, you can get equally good or better sound depending on taste for a lot less money, especially factoring in the rubbish cable that often needs to be replaced just to function properly.

Not the same game perhaps in Sennheiser's eyes but they all play music so in reality they are all competing with each other and to my taste the much cheaper S12 Pro does that better.

YMMV of course.

2 weeks ago I bought the IE600 refurbished from sennheiser for a great price! Its refreshing to see a company who takes refurbished seriously. I received it like it was brand new. This are the first IEM I can wear longer than 10 minutes, before my ears become very sore! They are very comfortable, and that sound! Makes me smile every time I put them on. This is also my most expansive purchase of headphone/IEM ever. I love the balance on this iem. Good base, but also very clear, but not to bright in the treble, I love it!

I have a ie300 and last week I bought an ie600 directly from sennheiser. I’ve been using the original 4.4mm cable with the ie600 and noticed that the microphonics were almost non existent. I’ve just compared with the original 3.5mm cable from the ie300, and yes, it’s totally different. The certificate for the ie600 is from the start of July this year.

Purchased the sennheiser IE600, yesterday 🍻🥳 waiting for them, to be delivered in a day or two.

Hearing and reading great things about them here ,after the purchase 😛🤩 (Almost a Blind buy , purchase based solely on crin's review)

Please suggest some great tips for them and dongle/DAP recommendations.

Happy to be in the IE600club 😊😘

I'm using a Cayin RU7 dongle, which has a full-bodied sound that I think compliments the IE600. And I have fitted KiwiFlex eartips from Kiwi ears, they have a wax guard with enough space behind it for you to add the foam filters from the stock tips.

I have both. IE600 is better, but whether it is a necessary upgrade depends on what you want.

Personally, my driver preference is DD>planar>BA. Hybrid falls anywhere in that order based on the implementation. Planar earphones like timeless and s12 (those are the ones I own) are good, but will lose to DD on impact. They sound softer to a DD overall. While they are resolving, they're not as clear as a well implemented DD such as IE600. Yes, there are great planar sets in the headphone arena, but I cannot talk about how they compare to DD headphone sets since headphones is not my domain. I like IEMs better, prefer them and can only talk about my opinion on what I've tried.

Coming back to IE600 vs S12, the resolution of IE600 is cleaner, sharper and better. S12 is very good. IE600 is excellent. It can go toe-to-toe with sets like Monarch MK II. I would recommend to demo them if possible and to make your own decision. Personally, if there are only two sets I can have, I would choose monarch mk ii and IE600. If I can only have one, I'll take IE600 because it is a single DD IEM that fits extremely well in my small ears. That should tell you all you need to know.

PS: If you like them, get wide bore tips like azla seenaearfit to make the presentation more balanced. All my impressions are based on wide bore tips. The default ones were too treble heavy for my ears.
Nice, Super helpful info. 👍
