I'm itching to buy a DMP A8 but one thing on the Eversolo homepage gives me pause:
Music files can be added from a local hard drive or network storage and it automatically retrieves metadata from the cloud to build a custom music library [...]
Haven't seen this posted here, so here goes. I can confirm that I2S connection from A8 to Holo Audio May works. I have set the pin out to option 1 on the A8 and Alt 1 on the May. Connecting via HDMI:
I’m currently using an SP3000T as a source to a Burson 3XGT. Anyone know how the Eversolo A8 would sound compared to the A&K? Considering trying it or the Audiolab 9000N. Would either be a huge upgrade?

All I can honestly tell you is I own the HIFI rose. I ordered it Eversolo A8 back in June of this year.
I figured I didn’t have anything to lose. I talked to a gentleman by the name of Amir. . Which from my understanding is this sold in Porter of the unit they are all the way up in Washington state on the Canadian border line.
However, my reason for doing this was basically out of curiosity I figured let me see what this Eversolo A8is really all about, and if I didn’t really like it or it was not satisfactory to me, I have 30 days to send it back
After approximately two weeks, I put the much more expensive HIFI Rose, up for sale and I kept the A8 , I would say the dish unit is at least approximately 90% of the rose, I did better than expected. I really like the Eversolo A8, and I’m very happy I made that move
The only thing I miss on the HIFI Rose was the bigger screen in front of the unit. Other than that that’s about it the A8 also has I would say a lot more flexibility to it over the UNIT I sold
I would order one and try it. I really think you’ll be quite surprised and if it’s not for you, you have approximately a whole month to evaluate it and see if you want to keep it or not. If not return it under those circumstances I believe there’s not a whole lot away. You can go wrong.
Funny I spoke with a gentleman that put out over $2000 for an R to R preamp and he preferred the R to R preamp in the in the Eversolo A8, the micro dynamics and inner detail and channel the channel separation in this unit to me is somewhat amazing after playing around with HIFI since the mid 1970s
Best of luck to you and your future HIFI endeavors but remember you can try it. You don’t have to buy it. You have a whole month to evaluate for the dollar to dollar ratio regardless of your income level. It’s one hell of a unit this hobby never ceases to amaze me

Not the LPS but another LHY product, the UIP USB isolator/regenerator, was found by Militaryhifi to work quite nicely with the A8 and his new X30 DAC. So nicely the combo is competing with his Holo May and DSDDac Deluxe - see his post on the X30 thread here:
