Good:) i think hd650 apart from quality difference to hd800 is totally different style of sound. if You like smooth warner sound hd800 may not be to Your liking.

And heasohone cables matter. The stock one for hd 600/650 is not good. If You like warner sound go for copper cable, if want more air and clarity go for silver.
many thanks bpiotrow13. must admit i do like the warmer sound. i did find the hd650`s top end a little on the hot side but managed to tame it using filters on the roon nucleus. everytime i use the hd650`s now i feel like i`m in heaven! i just didn`t think headphones could sound that good. it`s kind of the reason i`ve asked about the hd800. i`m sure i read somewhere that wieslaw from eufonika recommended the hd800 for use with the H22m. maybe when funds permit i might get my hands on some hd800 phones and see for myself and do a comparison. if i remember correctly when i ordered the H22m i think i had the miflex kfpm capacitors fitted but i`m thinking of going for the miflex kpcu-01 capacitors as an upgrade and i`ve also got a spare tkd 2511 potentiometer that can go in to replace the alps, not that i`m knocking the alps potentiometer. at the moment i`m no end impressed with the H22m so god only knows how good it will get with upgrades in the future!

One always want to upgrade:) try copper cable than:) and suggest to buy hd800 only when you try first. Maybe zmf HPs are sorth considering as an upgrade in future.

If it sound that good, you might also just leave it alone, and simply enjoy. Different caps, pots, or wires might just give you that, a different sound, and you might not like what you get. There is nothing wrong with being content with what you've got :)
hiya kvik, i think your quite right there really. i am really happy with the set up. i guess it`s human nature to want better when really it really is more than good enough. thank you guys for your input

Is this normal..using a Thompson 6080wa with Sylvania vt231 as driver. This is a M5 Miflex version eufonika..Turned it up the first time after getting it. Stock tubes came undone by the time they reached. Currently plugged direct into the wall socket 230v. Been showing red light instead of green.

Any suggestions, anything i can do or maybe suggest what to check. Im assuming the light shud be green instead of red?

Thanks

thanks kvik. Checked with Weislaw. He says it's an orange led he put in. So when I turn it on, first 30 seconds there is no light and then there is an dark orange/ red light that comes on. Everything else works fine. He says amp is safe to use

My yearly update of this tube amp thread has this time produced an Eufonika collage+list, which I thought I would share here as well. This is not an official or authoritative list, it is just what I have been able to gather from various sources.

Does anybody here use their Eufonika amp with efficient headphones? Think Grado's.

I have messaged the owner several times over several different channels in the last month via email, eBay and yesterday, Etsey.

I see on a chart that he has one amp recommended for as low as 40 Ohms. Thinking about a bit of customization.

Thanks!

I tried my Verum One and my Grado 60s, they sounded very weird on the H5

Not surprised as they seem to be built for high impedance 'phones. I was wondering if anybody has found a model that worked well for this case or has ordered a modified unit to make it work. I noted earlier in the thread that someone had a gain switch installed to use a wider range of 'phones.

Are you set on OTL? otherwise H15M comes to mind, at least as the basis for a custom amp.
I could go with OTL, SET, Push-Pull, etc. I just want a tubey sound.
I have burned through Several hybrid amps and that is just not for me. I should probably note here that my big amp is the iFi Pro iCAN, which is hybrid, although it does not sound at all tubey to me. But I love the insane power and bass boost/3D sound effects.

Just looking for an amp that could drive my 32 Ohm, 33 Ohm, 35 Ohm, etc. Headphones and instill a bit of tubiness.
