Eufonika (Valve amps from Poland)

Any new impressions since then?

How do you like your H5?

The location of front input and consequently cables hanging off to the side is a bit meh. Good to know it can be done like you did. Also like those two black caps :ok_hand:

Probably to do with eBay being more expensive as a seller's platform? And Paypal's fee on top of it.

Wieslaw responded to my question per email. Because I mentioned my happy times with the Crack /Speedball he replied:
''The H5 model is similar to the Bottlehead Crack. If the amplifier is to have a less warm sound signature, I recommend the H7 model.

When I asked what makes the H7 less warm than the H5:
''The input tube in the H7 model is 6N1P which has a less warm sound signature than the 6N8S in the H5 model.
In addition, 6N1P can be replaced by ECC88, and 6N13S to 6080.''

Thanks for the insight! Appreciate it.

At the very moment I also think one can't go wrong with either. I'm waiting for Wieslaw to respond to the question if H7 can also be fitted with Miflex, at a later time. So if I go with H7 or H5 in stock form, an attractive upgrade path later on is something to look forward to.

Answered: ''Yes, any amplifier can have such a modification. Anyway, you can order any amplifier in any configuration. Any amplifier will respond well with Miflex KPCU caps.''
If u liked the BHC, go with H5 with miflex. My reading of BHC design and H5 led me to chose H5 with miflex - the caps have similar effect as the crack kit and tubes are also quite similar in sound signature. In my usage of both types of driver tubes, found the 6SN7s to be richer, lusher, impactful and musical than smaller driver tubes. Smaller driver tubes will however be more like Solid state sound signature - precise, accurate, relatively lower depth/holography..
Hope this helps 😄

You are residing within the EU, so in your case shipping time shouldn't be problematic.

Considering how postal services treat packages, I would generally avoid unnecessary shipping. Most people are not aware how underinsured cross-country packages are as a rule.

I just heard back from Wieslaw. First time in a week, but I know he is busy. Also, he is doing his homework on my amp request.

His response was:

"Sorry for not answering but I had to check something. I am able to offer you an amplifier that will have neither an output transformer
nor a capacitor and will be able to work with the headphones you have
(Less than 100 ohms impedance)."

I replied back with several questions. Hopefully he gets back to me today/tonight. I live on the east coast of Canada and Poland is four hours ahead of us.

Thanks for the useful tube info. Regarding BHC, that's based on online impressions or ownership? And with caps similar to crack kit, do you mean the Speedball upgrade?

@moriez: If you are located outside EU shipping the amp back for an upgrade later could take quite some time. My last two shipments into Poland were more than two months on the way, most of that time stuck with polish customs. I would recommend going with the upgraded version from the outset.

Appreciate it kvik. I'm in Europe which I factored in in case I choose to upgrade later. Luckily shipping back and forth comes at a very friendly price.

I'm sending my H5 back tomorrow for the Miflex upgrade :L3000:

Yeah! I look forward to hearing back from you after. Come to think of it, while I'm not at all much of a solder guy perhaps getting Wieslaw to just ship the deeper wood base and caps to me I can do it myself. Something to consider for you as well?

Shipping it back as we speak. Only 17 EUR total with DPD Courier service. Pretty cheap actually. I could of done it myself but for 17 EUR I'd rather have him do it properly

hiya all again,

i managed to buy verite open back headphones off a member of this site at a very good price! i must say they leave my hd650`s in the dust but considering the price difference it shouldn`t be a surprise. i`m totally amazed at what i`m hearing connected to the h22m. i`m sat here listening to alan parsons "a valid path" and there`s just so much going on out of these headphones. the bass is so deep and clarity on offer is truly incredible. i don`t know which is more amazing the h22m or the verites. all i can tell you is they work extremely well together. i still love my hd650`s but i think the verites are certainly in the super league and both have shown just how good the eufonika h22m is. eye candy too!

Just placed an order for the H5 w/Miflex, it has been a week but have not heard anything from Wieslaw regarding shipment. How long does he normally take to build and send units out?

He made my H5 Miflex in 2 -3 weeks with custom layouts. He uses Poland postal services. Once it's in the postal system, takes about 15-18 days to reach India from Poland

Mostly inferences drawn from online research on what caps do vs what speedball crack kit does. An oversimplified take is that both add capacitance to the output signal which helps with dynamic peaks and bass reproduction.

For inspiration, care to take a pic?

Thanks again..

Almost equal to the cost of Miflex caps..about 100 euros give or take 10-20 euros.

Seems that he went up in price by about €50 according to @Deceneu808
