I'm glad you found nirvana. I wasn't bullshitting when I say that Ultimate is the killer machine. It's been 3 months since I first heard Ultimate, then known as the Mini 6y6g amp. It was around the time I bought Grado 325x and I was looking for a tube amp that is quiet with Grados and have enough power to drive other headphones.
3 months passed just like that and countless more tubes bought. My vacation is less than 2 weeks away. Glad to be stepping away from head-fi for 2 weeks.... more if I extend my holiday. I might not want to leave the durian plantation.
In the morning (I mean later at 10am !) I will be taking the Super Gold Ultimate and Mini Silver Ultimate back to Eric. I am going to say goodbye to the SIlver for possibly the last time. The Gold is getting a preamp out put in.
Then I will get the Gold back for more bashing. I will connect it to my 165w Redgum and see how that go driving my floorstanders speakers....
After that, it will be packed up for the journey to USA.... it will packed by UntilThen Shipping with ironclad bubble wraps 1 foot thick.
4:41am listen again with the Super Gold Ultimate. It's ultra silent with no music playing. Using ECC34 and KT88, the sound is so good, I've gone pass nirvana.
