Spent about 2k on tubes, such as KT66, El34s, ECC35, GEC 2900 etc......

That is scratching the surface. Ask @ARCXENOS how much he would have spend in 2 years time.

I have lost count of how much I have spent on NOS tubes but it's a good collection. Took me about 2 years to do that.

I've been using Tung Sol 6SU7gty, Psvane KT88 Tii with Sittard GZ34 in Odyssey for the last few days. The KT88 and GZ34 has been the best purchase for me. I use them a lot without worrying about burning up NOS tubes and they sound good.

I wonder what happen to @NEXTLEVEL5. He was very keen on a McChanson amp.

One thing @Deleeh didn’t mention here. He told me privately that he can’t believe his ears when he listen to his speakers via Ultimate.

As good as Ultimate is as a speaker amp with efficient speakers, I like Ultimate best as a headphone amp and as a preamp.

Eric makes dedicated tube preamps so it’s no surprise that the preamp out on Ultimate sound so good.

What I like Eric to do for my Destiny 300b amp later, is to add c3g as drivers in addition to the 6EM7 that is there already. So I can switch between the drivers. Secondly to add preamp out function. Thirdly to make it as quiet as Ultimate without reducing the power output.

A few reasons, mainly because the Willsenton sounds like crap with my Hifiman Arya Stealths and headphones in general, secondly I love tinkering and tube rolling and variation and the ability to use it with speakers, all of which the Ultimate can apparently do in style , plus it looks sexy as , which is always a bonus and it’s reasonably priced and made in Australia
