Got the GEC kt66 here.

They sound great as Matt described. Really nice tone.

Too much warmth when used with GEC2900( Still think this tube is overrated).
With Tele 12ax7 magic.

This pair of KT66 is from a friend of mine who used it as a driver/signal tube . So not as a power tube. Measures 100%

Many more power tubes for you to try and much cheaper. Life is not just about GEC KT66.

Wait for the EL84 adapters. They are as powerful as 6v6 so should have a lot of drive.

You have great taste my friend. I've Telefunken ECC801S with GEC KT66 in there now and it is magic indeed.

Note that you cannot use 6P15P with the same adapter because the 6P15P pins position are different from 6P14P (EL84).

While the 6v6 and EL84 are both smaller tubes, the 6v6 gives a completely different tone than the EL84. Where the EL84 gives a grittier, gainier feel and structure to the tone, the 6v6 has a sparkle to the top end and a chewiness to the bottom end the EL84 only has in its dreams.

Back to Telefunken ECC801S and Fonon 6F6M1 metal base. Very happy with this combination. I don't feel I need to use my expensive NOS tubes. Fonons rules the world.

I ask Eric to get his wood supplier for wooden chassis with pre drilled front and back holes and to face the long width in front. I.e like the golden Ultimate. He is looking into it.

To expand on this...

I'm in discussion with Eric on the future of wooden chassis. Have the orientation the same as Nick's golden Ultimate, pre drilled holes for power button, volume, input selector, 1/4" and xlr in front. Behind the back panel, there will be pre drilled slots for the IEC power, speaker outputs, 2 sets of rca and 1 set of xlr inputs (3rd set of rca input if xlr is not chosen)

How soon this will happen? Don't know. It's at the planning stage.
