His punishment would be to listen to Ballmer's speeches for 9,000 hours straight.

Scammers are bad!
But how Apple allowed this to happen is beyond me...

I don't quite understand how Apple would be smart enough ship out 9000 replacement Shuffles at one time, especially since it was released this month. That might allude to poor reliability with the Shuffles.

It didn't say what generation iPod shuffle, it looks to be the old kind from the pic, IDK though.

Sounds like he had been using the con for some time. He got lazy or greedy or both. You can't take that much without an auditor eventually catching on.

I don't think he did it at one time, but would have done it over a period of time. Because the shuffles are cheapest and sold in the millions, it would have taken someone seeing a weird pattern to figure out that something odd was going on.

Yes, but 9000 is alot, and an internal auditor at apple should have picked up on this a lot quicker (I'm only assuming apple has internal auditors, but honestly have no idea, if they don't this proves they need one, and if they do, this proves they need to get more competent ones).

They work very hard at keeping the brand on top.
I have lost count of the number of Ipod type 'stories' i have seen in the press over the years..
