End of Life and Sale on Mad Dog and Alpha Headphones

I was about to order an Alpha Dog until I saw the international shipping, $119? and the budget option is $112.

The Australian supplier says they cant get the Alpha Dog, but you have mentioned you have some availalbe.

Does this mean you are purposely avoiding dealing with non US customers?

The shipping is automatically generated by Fedex, of course we're not avoiding customers!

Australia is expensive to ship to, but that doesn't sound right. I'll get back to you....

Wow.  Well, Fedex seems to be charging us 30% more for Australia than other countries.  International Fedex is usually a more reasonable $56-73.  I've re-enabled USPS.com for Priority Mail and Express Mail options. We recommend Fedex when the price is close, but USPS can be a more affordable option.  We'll try, we've just had problems with them in the past...

Thanks for enabling those options, and a quick response too, it is nice to come across a manufacturer so engaged with the community :)

Those two delivery options are much more affordable, it now brings the price of the Alpha Dogs down to be just slightly more than my alternative choice.

The price of getting things in Oz is getting worse, and given the current volatility in the exchange rate I had better make my final decision quickly!

Thanks,

The Alpha Dogs arrived safe, I chose the basic USPS delivery and there was tracking info up to Australia, then they just turned up 3 days after the last update when they got to Melbourne.

Thank you for creating such a wonderful product.

Is there still time left to purchase the Mad Dog?  I need a few weeks before I can place an order.

You dont have a EU warehouse do you? Cause both Portugal (where im from) and Spain you many times end up paying 50% more just on customs fees.

Our EU resellers are allowed to ship to countries that don't have local coverage so you can now shop for ETHER within the EU. For our other products you have to deal with Taxes. Most EU countries are around 22-27%, but I can't speak to Specifics.

Like i said here can go as high as 48% and ether is 2 expensive for me, it's a shame.

Thanks anyway.

I'm wondering how unwise would it be to pair Alpha Dogs with a lowly USB dac/amp such as my Meridian Explorer? Anyone ever attempted this?

Lot's of people use USB Dac/Amp, and many aren't lowly at all.  The Meridian V2 got nice feedback, also the Geek Out V2 and the new CEntrance DACPort HD have gotten great feedback.  Check on the Alpha Dog thread to ask people for detailed feedback.

FYI, the metal headphone stand is discontinued.  Alpha orders will include the stand until we run out, at which point the product won't include a stand.  There are not many left...
