See my last post for new info on this group buy.

Hey folks,

Well I have a new source for the Caps and the price is a bit cheaper. I cannot say who/where/what about the source, so please don't ask.

Here are the details:

Lead Time: 8 weeks (yeah that sucks)
Minimum order quantity: 1000 pieces per cap. value

Values I was thinking about buying:

470uF/25V (for PIMETAs) @ $0.60

100uF/35V (for PPA) @ $0.21
220uF/35V (for PPA) @ $0.54

I think if I were to receive at least 500 caps worth of orders for each value, I can then pick up the last 500.

If anyone wants another value, we would have to reach 1000 pcs before it would be ordered.

PM me and let me know if you're interested in a group buy and what values you want.

Here is the page for Elna Cerafines LINK
They are the ROA series caps

The List

Andrew Fischer:

20 X 200uF/35V
20 X 100uF/35V

z2trillion:

20 X 220uF/35V
20 X 100uF/35V
20 X 470uF/25V

Earwax:

? X 470uF/25V

flecom:

all three values, not quantities specified yet

Turing:

? X 100uF/35V
? X 220uF/35V

Zemo:

50 X 470 uF/25V

thrice:

500 X 100uF/35V
500 X 220uF/35V

If anyone knows how to place an excel worksheet into a post I'd be grateful to find out how.

i personally am interested in the following for a project i want to do:

100uF
220uF
470uF

all caps at least 25v or higher, maybe 35v?

do you need 1000 of each? or 1000 total?

if you could get this together it would be great... since personally i will never order from welborne labs again... i paid $12 to 2 day FedEx a package and they sent it $1.29 USPS 1st class! then when i emailed them like 20 times they never responded

My next project is the Dynahi.
0.1 uF, 0.47uF and 33pF if possible.
I can always upgrade my PPA caps for sign me up for PPA caps as well.

these are electrolytic caps... the smallest value they are available in is .47uF @ 50v

Notes about capacitor buying for the Dynahi --

The .47uF cap on the board is a nonpolar rectangular-shell cap, while a Cerafine we'd get would be a polarized cylindrical-shell cap. It would probably be easier just to buy this one elsewhere.

The 470uF cap (large circle on the boards) has to be at 50V and at the same time must have a diameter that's around 13mm. I have some 16mm, 470uF 50V caps from Nichicon that simply won't fit.

So if there's any thought of getting a Cerafine cap for the Dynahi, we'd probably have to go with a smaller capacitance value, say 220uF/50V, so that it would fit on the board.

Have you talked to Mouser? It's 76 cents for 1000 unit Cerafine 470uF/25V. At that quantity, they will probably also order the other values as well.

For that matter, since 1000 units is Elna's minimum order, you may be able to buy direct from Elna America.

Hmmm, when I talked to Elna they said that 25,000 was the minimum order.

Maybe they have some kind of deal with Mouser...when I talked to a sales rep there a month or so ago about getting some Cerafine caps, he said that they would only order them in quantities of 1000. Or maybe I misunderstood and when he said that I needed to buy 1000, they would buy whatever minimum Elna required, then sell in quantities of 1000. Since I can't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning, I wouldn't count too much on me remembering what I talked about a month ago

bg4533, I prefer the cerafines yes.

And from whatever supplier you get (the cheaper the better) you can put me down for 50x 470uf 25V's.

If you can get 330uf 16V caps (assuming you don't need 1000 of each, just 1000 total), you can put me down for 24 of those.

An ETA might be nice, but I suppose you have to decide on a supplier first.
