Part of my love for the trancecore/freeform genre comes from being a bemani fan. The fast gated acid synths work wonderfully in creating difficult, but fun iidx/stepmania songs. Outside of that, it's a lot of fun to listen to, especially if I'm really in the mood for energy and excitement. It's the perfect middle ground of melody, intensity, and driving bass versus the other -core genres.

Mine too. I listen to a lot of the soundtracks pretty regularly. Great stuff.

Not sure what to call this... Some are calling it hardcore.. I think it's more like some type of speedcore.

This is just gabber.  It's actually slow for gabber and more of a hardstyle.

For comparison this is gabber:

Does anyone here listen to Zomboy's productions? I really like some of the tones and transitions he uses.

He's (Zomboy) on my meh list. Decent but nothing special, IMO.

Also. Worst news of the year, considering how much I...don't care about Knife Party.

Pendulum supposedly broke up and has cancelled their future live shows as well as their planned album (or I guess rumored) in 2013. Oh, and Rob Swire is a total ******, in case anyone wasn't aware of this yet.

According to NME, Swire confirmed that Knife Party was very much his priority in a recent interview with Australian radio station Triple J, saying when asked about the future of Pendulum: “The Knife Party thing is going so well we don’t really feel like going back to junior school anytime soon.”

Swire added: “We’re having too much fun with this project. It’s also great because Pendulum towards the end sort of felt like we were doing it because we had to and that’s never a fun way to do music. Whereas Knife Party is pretty much solely us doing what we want to and if no one likes it we don’t care.”

Way to **** on all of your long time fans, Rob.

I've rediscovered Milanese today. I'm liking this style of music. Any others you can recommend with a darkish Milanese style?

These are the two albums I have. Do they have any others?
