This song is ******* rough.

Definitely a good remix, I'm certainly excited for their upcoming EP with Asa.

I'm surprised someone had uploaded this on YouTube. I first heard this remix on Otographic Music's 3rd anniversary stream back in December.

Survival & Silent Witness have an album coming out on Dispatch Recordings. The sampler is sounding REALLY FRIGGEN GOOD. Last time Dispatch released a sampler (For Method in the Madness LP) I didn't buy it because I knew those tracks would be on the full release. So I'm gonna patiently wait for this one to drop. It's sounding really good.

EDIT: Couldn't wait, got it on iTunes for $5. But I panicked when it started downloading in 256AAC as I was expecting to be prompted as to which bitrate/quality I'd prefer.... And I have NO idea how to change my default download bitrate on iTunes. Help?

I don't believe they offer higher bitrates than that but I may be mistaken.

Well that's a shame they can't even offer ALAC, or 320mp3. This is why I hate Apple.

I wouldbt say they cater to the mainstream so much as they cater to themselves. Making their purchased music in their proprietary AAC format gives you less options for software and hardware playback without them getting a cut of the format license.

So yeah I guess I can't argue with the business model cuz it works, but from a a consumer standpoint there's plenty to argue about.

They do offer 320 MP3...It's called 256 AAC.

Also, you can convert ANY of the stuff you purchase to MP3 directly through iTunes...It's not hard.

And you shouldn't ask for ALAC and then be mad about an Apple specific format (AAC). They're both 'Apple' things. Just like AIFF (my preferred format).

Id just prefer lossless ALAC to convert to 320 lossy as opposed to lossy 256aac up to lossy 320mp3.
I don't know the science behind the conversion but does this not make sense?

256 AAC and 320 MP3 are the same so it's just a 'sidegrade'. So it's the same sound you'd get from an ALAC downconversion.

What software and hardware are you using that can't play AAC?
