Not sure which I like better between the BW and the Taurus Mk2.  Both sound fantastic with the LCD-3 and quite different.

The light is over the headphone jack, obviously the amp is not powered up. That's a gumby underneath. Fantastic combo

I've only got the mc1.2, but I do think it actually improves sound. I can hear blacker background, better instrument seperation and a much more forward soundstage.

Wyrd is just as their manual states, worlds most expensive 1 port usb hub, jk (kinda). They both fix dropouts from my laptop. I would also recommend trying to find either used as they are roughly 50% off and a much better value proposition at that point.

Its worth a shot. Some people dive in deep with these types of devices, I prefered to try something less complicated, and liked the results. Some people have tried and not liked results, they may prefer laid back sound.
 
These pre dac devices also seem to be DAC dependant. Which dac are you using?
