You don't need expensive iems to sounds good on the DX340, even cheap Tago Studio T3-02 sounds damn good on it, simply wonderful!!!

Good afternoon, I have Focal radiance and Dali IO12 headphones. I plan to buy Fostex TH-900 MK2, ZDM Atrium(closed) in the future. Now I want to upgrade my Kann Alpha, and now I'm choosing between Ibasso DX340 and Cayin N6 mark3. I mainly listen to EDM and for me is very important a good, expressive and at the same time punchy bass. Some people complain and even sell their Ibasso DX340 because the bass is weak. Doesn't this level of devices allow you to tune anything and how you want? Please help me with my choice

It isnt weak at all. You can search up that topic on the search function and read people exchanging posts. Do keep in mind, each people has his/her own preferences

I personally listen to a lot of EDM, and the Dx340 is the best I have ever had in portable players. Given that I dont have everything but I went through many flagship DAPs over the years, including those upto 3-4k. Also owned DMP Z1 for a while too

I have the Radiance along with the DX340 and the bass is definitely not lacking with these headphones. I haven't heard the Cayin N6 mark3, but I recommend the DX340 in combination with the Radiance.

Planar iems with the dx340 has been audio bliss. Campfire Moon rovers with dx340 (H2 filter) on jazz tracks very great technicalities and instrument separation. I may end up replacing my U4s with the U12t though. I need that soundstage

N6iii from memory is slightly more warmer and a bit more bass but DX340 isn't bass light. If you count DC in as tuning, it will hit harder than N6iii for sure lol

Has anyone tried stacking the D16 with the DX340? I've read that the sound between the two isn't exactly the same, so wondering if there is a benefit to using both.

The benefit is to get another sound signature while still enjoying the analogues of the discrete DAC family. Additionally, taking 340 alone on the go and can still enjoy similarly

In a sense, they are similar, and also on another hand, they are not 😀
