I look forward to your thread where you can post guides like I have to make a this all easy for the average person. I will look more into your settings etc when this thread exists with guides. I then can compare as I own 2 340s to get real time comparison instead of going by memory. If yours are better I have no issue admitting that and directing people to your thread. We are all here to learn as well as enjoy the music.
You may have missed my point, Matt. I don't care about battery life...just sound quality. I may - or may not - write some guides, depending on available time (limited) and whether or not I think I would be able to answer questions. But one thing I am sure we can both agree on: tweaking is a hell lot of fun (and frustration) ;)

Update: if you want to go hardcore on power consumption, run "adb root" followed by "adb shell dumpsys batterystats".

On the new FW I was seeing drain of up to 20-25% (15-20+hours) the next day after a 100% unplugged

Edit- full reflash with QFIL to new FW as well to make sure it's a clean boot

Edit : Same drain times on OG FW and the update. 10+ hours idle would be up to 20% sometimes, will try again tonight with another unplug and idle with no 12v.

Last night I wanted to test something I noticed before with the 12v in

If the 12v is kept in while on idle and ON, there is little battery drain, the AMP might be pulling power even in standby mode or while not playing and this could be an issue as to drain

11 hours with 4% battery loss with the 12v in from last 100% unplug

This all seems like pretty straight forward FW fixes and should be addressed soon

Edit; This makes me think that maybe a hard cut off of the amp getting power until a transducer is plugged in or some form of cut off. Could also be a software side issue on how the AMP is pulling from the internal battery when not on 12v.

I have just been shutting my unit off when not in use, start up is less than 30 sec if not a max of 20 to internal boot

Pozdrav

That we can agree 100%. I am all for making the 340 the best it can be. I don't give a crap who can do this. It's a sonic masterpiece that deserves the best.

Interesting about the amp/battery drain observation!

I have decided on the shutdown when not in use as well.

For those of you who have something like this:

Or

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CS2MD9FP?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

You can use this:

To do DC 12V In/Super Gain on USB C port, not A. Also has 12V car aux out which I have a cord coming tomorrow. I bought the above to use with powerbank and have tested and works perfect. NO hiss or NOISE. $34 (about 24 hrs of battery per charge for 12VDC SG). Now have 12 V DC In on the go :) :) :) :)

No hiss or noise!!! Transportable but not portable solution. This is an alternative to a LPSU. EcoRiver is just running off batteries, no AC/DC inverter on which would create lots of noise. Pitch black background so finally rid of the power grid noise that was messing with SQ. Reason I wanted to try this is I already had the EcoRiver to be used when there are power outages so now will be used for the DX340 instead of collecting dust. This is a cheaper and more useful alternative to LPSU as you have for emergencies etc.

Is it really necessary to spend $300 on LPSU when you have something that allows power direct from batteries? FYI I can use this for 100 hours before needing to charge EcoRiver. I can take from my living room to bedroom etc easily.

Here is IMG FW for older FW for DX340:

I've definitely got to invest in a power Bank solution. Got my finger on the trigger of the Anker prime power Bank @Whitigir has linked to.

I will be honest, I'm quite disappointed in the battery life. I took the 340 out of the box yesterday morning and it was at 95%. I listened for 2 hours yesterday morning using UAPP and it was at about 76% when I put it away.

Woke up this morning and took it out and the battery had completely drained and the unit was off.

Unfortunately no AC plug near my listening position so the power Bank is the only good solution it seems.
Battery life is definitely an issue. Using battery saver I can get a little less than 4 hours before the battery is drained. I left mine on pause yesterday for about 10 minutes and when I returned the battery level had decreased 6%. I've since turned battery saver off. I'm hoping a future firmware fix will give us more time.

Yes even with optimaztion etc and using only 12 V DC in battery drains fast. I still think there are charging issues. I had my new 100 watt Anker clone plugged in and battery was going down not up while it says it's fast charging!. Then put back my small 5000mah Anker and it started charging. Either something is eating battery or charge is not working and dap not actually reaching charge reported leaving impression that there is fast battery drain when battery is not being charged right and fully.

I can confirm Amp draws even when no music is playing and dap just powered on. Anker clone tells me all the stats. This would drain Amp battery not dap/digital but with no display of both batteries status who knows level of both.

I am not entirely sure what you guys define as unacceptable battery drain. Mine uses ±10% battery per hour when playing local files and 11% when streaming Qobuz. In standby mode (no music playing), it consumes ±1% per hour. WiFi has hardly any impact in standby, because it will be sleeping anyways. So all-in-all, I get just over 8 hours of playback time from a single charge (and normally stop around 80%). For me that qualifies as acceptable.

Personally, I have not experienced any charging issues since the last firmware update. And that applies to all 3 chargers I have. @mattclarke18, have you tried re-installing some of the Qualcomm and/or QTI packages? Just curious...

Same were disabled on Dx180 which has same android version and processor and had no issues and all my chargers worked. Battery management is all written by IBasso as they have patent on dual battery setup.

Have you tweaked in any way your device or is it running original ROM with no tweaks/mods? Sounds like a nice battery life/as advertised that you're getting.

Heavily tweaked...though for audio quality only, not for battery life.
Now what do you mean by heavily tweaked? Root + disable some apps/services or more?

Way more than that, especially some sysctl/kernel/network tweaks. But no rooting...device is already "pre-rooted" out of the box.
Would love to see all this in a guide explaining what all of it does. I am willing to try it on my 2nd 340 once I get back from Bloom.

I got 2 hours of playing time and my device completely drained in 24 hours after that. Wi-Fi was listed by Android as the heaviest usage of battery in that 24 hours. Screen off, in a cabinet sitting totally at idle. Definitely will have to try some of these optimizations!

My guess is that is a bug. I do not use WIFI - Air Plane mode on always, BT has been disabled. If you have not already flash to newest FW and see how things go from there. Put this module in Restricted Mode in battery settings. Settings -> Apps -> See all XX Apps -> Upper Right vertical dots choose Show system and then select this one below and see if that helps. For audio performance choose the player app you use and set to unrestricted for me its Nuetron.

vendor.qti.iwlan - Wifi driver
