how dose dx340 sound compared to rs8?Last post for the day. I don't want to be spamming the thread. The design looks chonky. But in terms of size relatively.
Height is between D16 and DX320.
Length is in between as well. DX320 is longer by a centimeter. Width is marginal difference.
About the same as an RS8. So, it's flagship sized, but not the biggest, heaviest, or longest.

The Rs8 is much smoother and thicker soundinghow dose dx340 sound compared to rs8?
Also it’s exactly the same footprint as the HiBy R8ii, but a tad slimmer.Last post for the day. I don't want to be spamming the thread. The design looks chonky. But in terms of size relatively.

This is not a Linear Power Supply. The same as Ifi Ipower EliteA recommended power supply, which also includes the appropriate adapter (3.5 x 1.35 mm):
ifi iPower X 12V (https://ifi-audio.com/products/ipow...HmFWibnKp3nh5kSeC6YXNMHgrBGcmzv8DHO3tITvE9bvr)
I replaced all LPS's with Ifi's. Less power consumption, less heat, no humming transformers. For me, linear is (no longer) the holy grail. And in some cases I actually prefer the sound of Ifi, certainly compared to Keces. But will probably also depend on the use case. This is not a Linear Power Supply. The same as Ifi Ipower Elite
Smoother and note weight is heavier like @damascato mentioned. It's got more air and treble when called for. All this at the cost of not sounding anywhere as natural as the 340/D16, but still within my acceptable limits. I find smooth sounds to be very artificial, rendering players like the SP3K to be unbearable.how dose dx340 sound compared to rs8?
Humming transformers are usually from badly designed LPSU....transformer barely meets the power output...I replaced all LPS's with Ifi's. Less power consumption, less heat, no humming transformers. Properly and well designed SMPS can rival LPS for most audio applications. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.I replaced all LPS's with Ifi's. Personally prefer power supplies from Farad (think super capacitor based). But prices went up significantly in recent years. So, I'll stick with Ifi.Properly and well designed SMPS can rival LPS for most audio applications. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Do you really find the sp3k smooth!?Smoother and note weight is heavier like @damascato mentioned. It's got more air and treble when called for.
