In comparison to players in the price range from $1,000 to $2,300, specifically M23, N6III, SP3000M, he described it as his favorite in the very first sentence. I think that a large part of his statement is addressed to a less informed recipient, which is why he justified the price and capabilities of the DX340 in the context of other offers, including dongles. Although this is a kind of mini-review, I consider him a credible reviewer. In my opinion, he is usually reliable in his descriptions.
In all fairness they are the only USA dsitributor for iBasso products so I wouldn’t call him a reviewer necessarily. Ask a salesman to review the product he sells and you can get good categorization amongst the other products he sells but not necessarily a review.

Onto other posts.
The hyperbole here has gotten so thick it’s like Canadian Molasses. Good to see a few more folks getting this in their hands and ears. It’s on the list for me for certain and I’ll have to check with Bloom to see when more stock is expected but if my expectations aren’t met I’m coming back here for a few of you, especially since you state it’s the greatest dap of the year period without the “to my ears” caveat 🤣.

Joe you will not be disappointed. I was hesitant like you which is why it took me a month to finally get one. I looked at it like if I am not happy I can return it and pay 169 and keep the Dx260. I agree with you. I would not go by what a seller says. It's people like me/fellow hifiers who have credibility. I loved it right out of the box with super gain only. Bass was lacking in normal high gain mode but now it's great out of super gain. Got mine Wed so don't have a ton of hours on it yet. At 200 hours it should be in it's final form. You will thank us. It is on the heavy side so you have to be OK with that. I am used to it now and have it in my shorts pocket now. I don't BS around. If I thought it sucked I would post it right in this thread.

Just checked and Bloom has stock.

How could you? It's not a huge step back to use both of those when you have the DX340?
Both my Sony WM1ZM2 & DX300Max Ti & the DX340 serve me well, they are just different sound characters that make me keep all 3. All are top class DAPs imo.

That is great that you can use them all. I could not. Maybe it's the synergy with Maven II that has me so hooked or the 340 hits all my preferences perfectly. I have not heard the Max but had a Sony.

Just purchased the LHY 80W LPSU, I don't care if it's overkill.

At least there won't be any hissing or jitter anymore in Super Gain :)

btw @ToneDeafMonk

I know you purchased the same LPSU from the same seller on Aliexpress, did your unit come with the A/C power cable?

If not, did you just use whatever A/C cable you had laying around or did you just buy a random on on Amazon?

Does not list 12V even though it can do less and more than that.

12V is by default, if you want other DC ratings you have to contact the seller to request it.

In other listings for the 80W version there are drop-down menus that let you select the 15V+ options. But this is easier since 15V is by default.

Shipping is free for this particular listing which is good.

Yup, it's a fancier 12V plug that feeds from the LPSU into AMP15.

But I don't think this LPSU comes with an A/C plug I gotta go get a separate one.

I recommend Pangeas
Pangea Audio AC-14 Audiophile Power Cable AC Cord Upgrade for Audio, Video and Electronic Gear 3 Prong

Also, buy silicone feets for LPSU, if you want to be meticulous
