Hey @Paul - iBasso,
Are you able to dispatch our directly placed orders with you of the DX340 frontplates for AMP14/AMP12/AMP13 before the Chinese New Year? Otherwise I’m assuming our best bet to get them will be after mid February?
Thank you!

i
Here are all the modules on the DX340 that can be disabled. Lots of bloatwares. Keep in mind I do not have a DX340 but have a DX180. With exception on one module they are the exact same on both. The 1st time setup module is different on each model. You should be able to cut 300+MB RAM use and these not needed modules consuming resources in the background. If one buys Nuetron without going through Play all the Play services can be disabled which would save resources. Neutron will work once license is cached with Google Play itself disabled. Someone will have to test this with UAP. I would love to know if the sound is changed after all these have been disabled on 340. My DX180 guide will work with the DX340, I am 99.999% sure. I have some additional stuff you need to do. Just about all can be done without Root. The turning off Sensors will have to be turned off after each reboot. On DX320/260 it will stay off once turned off. I have attached the latest guide to this post. I will post in my thread once someone with a DX340 tests and lets me know all is good so I know 100%. Disabling these will not brick your DAP. I learned which ones mess things up the hard way when I was making the guide last year.

If you run into any issues boot into Recovery mode and do factory reset. This is very unlikely as all these are disabled on my DX180 and all works except BT which I disabled because I do not use BT with a DAP.

Regardless of my previous post(s), I certainly see value in optimizing/debloating devices. I suggest making a clear distinction between (unnecessary) apps and packages, though.

After having removed some apps, I noticed only ±16 packages (of ±130 in total) were actually loaded (adb shell pidof <package>), of which 7-8 can be safely uninstalled. So I still don't think the entire list is necessary. In addition, many of the steps in the optimization guide can be done via ADB commands. More than happy to help/support; please feel free to contact me.

Android’s standard driver only supports 48, no matter what an attached DAC supports, that’s why Roon downsamples.

That is not the case with an iPhone
I honestly think this is (no longer, since Android 10/11) the complete story: my Z-Fold6 (Android 14) has no SRC/limit (other than 192kHz), but still Roon refused to go higher than 44.1kHz. But maybe Roon is still only/exclusively using the "old" android framework.

Do not want to take any chances so this will be how the Ibasso setup travels with me. Height is all but snug so not a lot of wiggle there ( will but some foam on the lid to reduce it to zero), side to side no wiggle at all.

Roon Remote works amazing on my Fold 6, great way to swap track on lock screen and from the watch. Now this is mainly for when i am in USB DAC mode but it's been less and less recently.

ARC has been pretty much useless for its entirety, BETA USB iirc is the last thing.added

Once they figure that out and one can send native/resampled music anywhere from your core over 5G Hotspot from your phone and such to DAPs... would change the way it's used and it's place. Especially with the DX340

I have been enjoying Tidal and have greatly missed the daily discovery algorithm

Side note

Hit that 200+ hour mark on the DX and oooof, she prrrrrrn, naturaly musical ill come back to this in the days. Blown past my expectations for what a portable let alone this dac can do.

Native Android Tidal and Qobuz out USB are almost bit prefect, they resample 88 and 96 to 192. Most of the other tracks would work but depending on the app and rate they would freak out and go to 192

Mojo 2 used for the lights as the dac

Amazon and Apple hard resample to 192

UAPP will get Tidal and Qobuz working bit perfect with USB out too.

Quick question, how many running native streaming apps over through UAPP?

Kind of long way of saying your 1700 DAP can be a USB transport too

AMP16 tho

Pozdrav

I can understood why u say 340 has great synergy with IER Z1R ... but not for me...
I understand what you mean very well. This post here will be interesting if you want to take a look

Additionally, the metallic sparkles, transparency and clarity is improved a bit with UAPP rather than Mango player.

The interesting thing about this Hobby is that there are plenty of other choices. Just make sure one have to understand their desires, and their targets well enough.

Did the reset and the battery showing 44% again on restart - It is now actually charging as after maybe 15 minutes it is at 49%… hopefully a once off glitch!

Had this issue again, this time stalled at 25% and showing green as if to suggest still charging… but no progress having checked back a couple of hours later, and trying different chargers. I’ve sent Paul a message on FB Messenger but just checking here to see if anyone else has had this problem? I’m sure a reset will solve again, but shouldn’t be necessary :(

Try charging with a typical USB A to USB C port for an hour and see what happens. I think atm, charging with SPD chargers or so ... have caused the errors

Had similar issues, changing adapters solved it for me.

mine is fickle with charging as well, it always charges with a USB A charger though

Yeah I tried that too - I’ve now done a reset and charging properly. Very annoying as I only use local files, obviously the microSD contents are fine aside from having to do a media scan, but I lose albums stored in the DAP memory.
