So, as I understand "up to 2000mW power ouptut" will be only available with DC in and only with the "amp15", so with "regular battery mode" it should be much less 🤔 it is similar to FiiO M17 "enhanced over-ear mode" with dc in 12V adapter as I understand. There is also FiiO M27 coming up in couple of months, should be very interesting and competetive 🤔 P.S. I don't like M17 sound signature, it is too sterile, anemic and technical, lacks musicality in my opinion. I hope that DX340 will have note weight, wide soundstage, musical, involvoving, engaging and not anemic presentation 🤞
486 grams? That is a massive increase over DX320 ... RIP pocketability.

So the DC power can feed it to go to 2w, but...thermals? The M17 had a friggin fan blow its back

Typical IBasso sound. I have one of almost every category from iBasso - DAP, dongle, IEM, Headphone etc. This boring neutral sound does not change and that is why I stopped buying iBasso products but still keep following. Sad to hear that the Dx340 is the same.
Have you heard the latest high-end products?

I suspect not, because here the direction has been changed - drastically ...

So you went from talking that many do like iBasso tuning to arguing that you are more right in liking this type of sound

I don't care and it doesn't contradict my point : that i (and many other) don't like original ibasso tuning

Good for you if you do

Good for me if I don't since iBasso have this genius switchable amp architechure + AMP 13

Thanks to iBasso for their good works !
I am not arguing anything. And you most likely misunderstood what I was getting at. I go by real sound, timbre, transient speed etc., to go against what I hear on a system that is reproduced sound. So much sound is exaggerated and much of this came about with the digital age. People wanted and want more excitement to keep their attention. There is a lot of variety so it is good for everyone and their personal needs regarding sound.

If I misunderstood you don't understand nothing

Cool theory you've got there, almost the same we hear anywhere (diet, screen, apps etc ..) very original

But music was created in ordrer to make emotion and stimulate people.

Please little Buddhist monk can you return to your voidy méditation

That’s a super weird design making the DC in part of the AMP module.

Does this mean that the DAC will operate on battery while the AMP can operate in DC since both DAC and AMP have independent power ? This is not the same as Fiio M17. The Fiio M17 and most probably the upcoming M27 can operate fully on DC or fully on battery, not half battery and half DC.

I have the Dx320. Not the latest but it’s the previous flagship (not counting the MAX models). It has an amazing sound stage but when it comes to musicality it sounds terribly flat and dull. I have both the stock AMP and AMP13. After listening to the horrible AMP13 I decided not go for the AMP14. The stock AMP sounds much better.

I can assure you that the DX320Max is anything but “flat and dull”. On the contrary... and I say this as a big fan of musicality, dynamics and warmth and as a comparison to the N30, which really does very well in this area and in analog sound with the special tube tuning.

The SP3000 was indeed flat and dull for me.

Lol don't tempt me to open the deepest part of my wallet. I already spent like 4k recently for Hifi gear alone and even more on other non-hifi expenses.

Truth be told I am tempted by the in-house DAC in the Dx340 and hope it will be priced reasonably and the DC-in if available will apply to the entire DAC+AMP.

I haven't heard the SP3k but I have Kann Ultra and it's my current favorite DAP that I own and it's anything but flat and dull, it's an amazing DAP.

I heard a rumour that iBasso is using the same Tantalum Capacitors that was used back in the Dx200 also now in the Dx340.

Anyone knows if there is any truth in this or is it just a bad rumour being spread ?

Can anyone confirm on previous models if amp switch changes drastically sound signature? I passionately detest bright sound signature and am looking for warm smooth sound.
You should take a look to Sony daps then
