For those who wondered how good the battery packs can be. It gives improvements similar to the walwart. But it is now portable and on the go. It is still only 30% of a good proper LPSU can do.

Now, you have more options to enjoy your 340 with 😆

The craziest thing is that the LPSU clearly showing the scalabilities. Especially the Dynamism, stagings and textures vividities. It is addictive with a good LPSU. Dont even need PP5 or D16 or the trinity stack

What are you using, IEMs or full size headphones? Are you using any gain option?

@mattclarke18
Have you managed to get your issues resolved and get your second DX340 working? Can you hear the difference between FW1 and FW2?

No. I am sending the 2nd unit to Bloom. They will replace it. It can be fixed but Paul doesn't have the settings I need to flash it right. They are different for DX340. I spent hours already trying different stuff but My main 340 is working great except for some charging issues. I am using Maven IIs which do not need high/super gain but sound so much better with it. I heard no difference between new and old once I got my main DAP working right. When not working it was stuttering and everything just sounded really off. The smoothness and finesse of the 340 was gone - FW did not apply right.

DX340 UAPP question
Sorry if this is in the wrong thread to ask or if the answer is here and my search missed it.. I have loaded a hunk of my FLAC library to the internal memory on the DX340, In UAPP under "Album Artist" view about half of the library only shows the Artists name but no art, songs or files. When viewing in "Artist" view they are fine but because of a LOT of compilation albums, I need "Album Artist" view. To try and solve I moved a couple of the impacted directories from my DX180 (which displays fine) to the DX340 no resolve. Since I have not seen this on any other player using UAPP with same FLAC files (FiiO, Hiby & 2 Samsung devices) I am leaning toward a DX340 anomaly. Any experience or troubleshooting ideas welcome

Another happy DX340 owner here. Received mine a little more than a week ago and about 80+ hours burn in for far. I think it sounds just as good as my 320MAX, really amazing. Different even, there is so much detail and lushness. It may even beat my WM1ZM2 (approx. 300 hrs) except for battery life. Sounds great with all my IEMs. Right now, I'm using EE Raven. The Raven's sound better on this thing than they do with any of my other DAPs. Almost all listening has been on battery, although I did try out super gain once.

Question for charging. Up to this point I'm using Anker USB chargers that put out 5v and up to 2.4 amps (24W) for charging my DAPs. I just got an Anker Prime charger (that will do 100W and 5, 9, 12, and 20 volts. Will this Prime charger know to supply only 5v to the DX340 for charging? I don't want to overload anything.

This happened on my old DX320.
I remember the fix was to use enable "scoped storage" in settings and rescan your library.

I use a few different chargers. No issue at all with charging. I use a couple that go to 20 volts and they charge at 5 volts for the DX340.

Also using the Utopia a lot with the DX340. Excellent sound!

Another owner of the 340, reporting in for Induction to The Club. Wow, this thing is a chunky monkey, but man it it beautiful. Haven't had my first listen yet. Full Charge is on it, new firmware on, and factory reset just completed all without issue. Now it time to load ROON and some flacs and drift away. I haven't even heard it yet and I'm in Love! The screen, casework, heft and feel and all gorgeous. I'm expecting to be able to say the same thing from my ears' perspective shortly.

It works perfectly fine.

Using both, mainly HD800s and MDR Z1R

All gains max

Just adding my LEMO connector and cables to DC gold plugs. To heck with it, just get the best components for it in order to expose the best of it capabilities

To get the most out of the 340 Super Gain is a must. It will probably close the gap between your 320Max. Battery life could be better but keep in mind Ibasso batteries when new have to settle so charge will not last long the first several charging cycles. You should calibrate OS to battery every few months. Just keep using until DAP shuts off. This tells OS more exact info so estimates are more accurate. IF you run into a charging issue like I have where it gets stuck at a certain % for a long time power off DAP and unplug and plug in charger. Paul tells me its a charger issue but I disagree as I have used this charger with 180,260,320 without any issues. 320 has same batteries as 340. Sony has better quality Japanese battery and its amp is not as powerful as 340's. Because they removed the AMP/Digital separate charge indicators (BAD IDEA) we have no idea which battery is draining more. I suspect High DAC gain will use more battery. You can replace the 340 battery easily unlike Sony. I already took a DAP apart to remove battery. I noticed no differences after 10 hours of burn in.

@Whitigir can better answer your other question than me.

Anker Primd with USB A port to C cable will charge 340 just fine. It has problems with C ports though.

The C ports will also supply 12V DC if you have a typr C to 12V DC cables and warrant to run DC supergain as well

From the manual:
/Charging:DX340 supports two quick charge protocols, QC3.0 and PD3.0.Charging can be done with quick charger that is compliant thestated 2 protocols, or any USB charger with 5V output voltageand 2A or above output current. A full charge takes about 2.5hours with the afore mentioned quick charge types./

I made cursory measurements of voltage and current.

I only have 2 chargers with QC and PD ports. Both switch to 9V voltage during operation - 0.8W:

I don't know if this is a bug and if it's safe, so I use a charger (5V) without QC and PD protocols.

Other results (5V 2A without QC and PD):
During operation and charging - 12W:

With battery saving mode on (80%) - drops to 3W:

With charged battery (100%) - drops to 3W:

Charging only - 9W:

Sometimes in battery saver mode (80%) charging in USB DAC mode still continues to 100%. I haven't tested this in player mode.

Maybe it's a battery calibration issue and you need to charge and discharge the battery a few times (this is just a guess for now).

(Results may vary with amplifier DC power connected).

Here is one I am using. Twister6 recommended in one of his reivews

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2MLRF93?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Mine will stop charging all the sudden. I have to power off and it will start charging again. NOT a charger issue. ITs a bug. If it was charger issue it would not charge even when powered off.

I have no issue with USB C to C for charging. Using Anker, Ravpower and a couple of other chargers. I use what ever one happens to be handy. I use a 3.0 cable.
