Hello all!

Loving my DX320MAX but I’m having an issue with Roon.

No matter what the original sample rate, the files get played back at 44. What am I doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong, this is just a consequence of Roon not having bitperfect playback on Android.

If you want you can lock the OS mixer to a higher sample rate by playing a file with that sample rate in Mangoplayer before you start Roon. Then Roon will play at or upsample/downsample to that rate instead of 44.1 kHz.

I have had a couple of emails and also noticed that the 80% battery saver charging is not on the current firmware. The next update of firmware will have this feature.

has this been updated ? where should i find this setting (sorry i’m android ignorant)

It probably would be in the battery settings. I don't see it so I assume the update hasn't happened yet. I checked for updates and there were none.

i have two questions:
1) have you received your units in s sealed box ? i was told ibasso sends them out without the seal.
2) thinking of a valentinum case. but should i be worried about magnets as it has some ?

The inner box (inside the black cardboard box) was wrapped up in some hard plasticky wrap that sealed it close. It had no other seal. Mine came from NP Audio.

Agreed ! And I don’t think Ibasso has been dealing with any tamper proof seal or whatever

I'm guessing there's shielding in the chassis and between components (e.g., analog and digital pathways, which is the entire premise of non-interference techniques Ibasso implements ever since it started using separate batteries) against electromagnetic interference. I'm also guessing that the magnets used in the Valentinum cases are weak enough not to cause issues (as they are used across the board with this manufacturer's cases for a number of different top of the range DAPs). @Whitigir and others more well-versed with the circuits inside the DX320Max can correct me, of course.

In any case, I've got a Valentinum case on the way in the post and we will see. Also bear in mind they take several weeks to arrive (unsurprisingly, if you consider where they're coming from).

i’ve taken a different and more risky route as Valentinum didn’t have the kind of leather i was looking for. I custom ordered a Vishnu case similar in design to Valentinum in cordovan shell. I hope it’ll come out nicely.

Onto the magnetism effects. I would advise to stay away from it as much as possible, even though Titanium is a great materials but the fields may still have an effects. Though, it may be negligible and as far as convenience goes, you can always use it. For example, the IPhone and it mag accessories are great, with or without anyways

That's the thing, though. On the 300Max, I really liked the blue colour of the case. This one, nope, sorry, not my cup of tea at all! Hence I got the black smooth Valentinum. I know it's just an aesthetic thing, but it's a thing to me anyways, can't help it. I also think that magnets generally used in such cases are extremely weak and, since Valentinum supplies cases for a wide range of high-spec DAPs which are well-sold, if any adverse effects had been observed people wouldn't buy them. The latter point I can't prove, of course, it's more like common sense. So I'm not saying your cautioning is invalid. So, we'll see.

Is is super easy to get leather dye and change the color of the leather. Very easy.
