I am glaad for you that you enjoy your new combo, but... in another post, you highly praise the HiBy rs8. Do you now consider the MAX superior to the HiBy rs8 ? thanks
i have both rs8 and 320max
technically,hands down,max is better,however the rs8 is outstanding also!
they are completely different
r2r sound vs delta sigma type sound
for me they really complement one another
both very enjoyable

So I yesterday I decided to become one of the 888, and today I received mine. This thing is absolutely incredible sounding so far. There is a gorgeous clarity and forwardness to vocals and instruments. I'm really enjoying it so far. I do have a software critique though:

Mangoplayer's shuffle behavior is inconsistent. In my opinion, having shuffle active should not prevent me from returning to a song that I have previously seen. If I have shuffle active and I'm on song A and I press forward and it takes me to song F, pressing back should take me back to song A and pressing forward again should take me back to song F. I should be able to do this for a sequence of any length. In other words, shuffle should be implemented by iterating sequentially through a list that was randomly sorted once at the beginning of the session, not by randomly selecting items from a list. However forward buttons in the UI and the physical controls cause a randomly selected song from a sorted list and back iterates sequentially backwards through that sorted list, whereas swiping left and right on the album cover iterates backwards and forwards on the randomly sorted list (the desired behavior). Is this intentional? If so it's a weird design choice and I'd rather have it be consistent across all controls. Is there a setting I'm missing?

DX320 max is quite a powerful dap so Im curious how it performs against harder to drive headphone.

Tried HE6se v2 and it can be loud but it clearly struggles with the dynamics (doh). It makes he6se sound flat, thin and bright.
But 320m should be sufficient for 90% of headphones out there

I have no doubt. Even when I have a powerful desktop amplifiers, I still don’t want to touch planar :). ES and planar are something else

Hi guys, glad to hear you're enjoying your 320maxes. Has anybody tried to use the PCM->DSD setting at full DSD512 or DSD256, multithreaded, on the Neutron app On the 300Max this transition (to DSD256) causes heavily clipped sound, basically it doesn't work. Through conversations on another forum with @Whitigir and others, the prevalent opinion was it was because the CPU cores were operating at a base frequency, i.e. rather low. But lifting the frequency (after rooting the DAP) spelled heat-dissipation trouble that might damage it in the long run. I'm wondering if this works out of the box for the 320Max.

On Neutron as long as you don't use the ×8 setting, PCM-DDSD works

Oh really? That's not good. I only tested fir a second to see if it worked, otherwise been on MangoOS the whole time
yep, it's an old issue on DX300 Max (well, not really an "issue", rather a setting one cannot take advantage of, which is a pity, cos it does improve an already impressive sound ever so slightly, but audibly). Some have rooted the DAP to be able to increase core frequency which cures the issue but creates another with heat dissipation.

Since @Paul - iBasso recommended that the 12V is specifically designed for the 320Max, which is no longer using similar range as the previous Maxes (12-18V). Please take notes.

I have gone on to acquire a new power bank for my 320Max, and the 12V cables. This bank has 26,000mAh battery pack, which can be fast charged within 2 hours and also support all kind of voltage from PD ports. The reasons why I gravitate toward the power-bank is that so I can also use it as a transportable rig with my 320Max. Then of course, the 12V triggered cables will work out of any usb-C PD charger

The 320Max has 9600mAh batteries. So this bank should be able to hold 2.5x the charges, which will be enough for a couple days of traveling without plugging in . This one is a lot more bulky than the Anker 7 that I have, which only supported 15V. But I think the 320max deserves a new power bank :).

another day browsing on the board and so here we go - getting enticed for things here and there ....just ordered that "tank" and the cable just to have for my 300max SS I guess the set up will be suitable too - unless our fingers somehow end up ordering a new DAP ..ha! Time to upgrade my powerbank ..in case we are getting hit with a bad summer !!

The Tank is a valuable good bank. It supports many different triggered voltage, and also Power Delivered charges in both in and out simultaneously. I can use it so that I charge up both the amplifier and the DAC on the Max from the tank, while the Tank charges itself up 100%.

This warrants that I can have my Max for days as long as I have the Tank with me. Can also charge up anywhere with a plug and charger
