it's considered a mid range DAP but not many other DAPs from other brands can compete at this price point
i couldn't agree more - i believe it can also compete with certain much more expensive offerings from some other brands...

i've had much more expensive gear in the past and i've sold all of it after i bought the dx260. it still amazes me every day and it's my only remaining dap/dac for everyday use.

i think ibasso knocked it right out of the park with this lovely little device. a stunning achievement really.

I think I might be having some trouble with my DX260....I've added some files to the SD card storage (that didn't go smoothly), now I have it Media Scanning, but it only gets 20-40% of the way through before Mango player crashes. It's a Sandisk 1Tb card. Any ideas?

I would guess tagging issues. I would get an app for that.

I use Perfect Tunes, what tagging issues would cause this? I'm not an expert in tagging. All my rips are using dbpoweramp, so I would have thought it was properly done. Any tips gratefully received. It's the same library as I have elsewhere, plays fine with Roon and with Apple music....

DX260 is one of the best sub 1K$ DAP i've heard hands down, what a breath of fresh air. Been using this one more than my SP3KT or M17 lately!
Yes, it isn't confined to a price category, it just gets everything right. And I really like the size.

I just recieved my DX260 (Black) today from Bloom Audio. I've gone through setup, checked that the firmware is current, formatted a new 1tb SanDisk Extreme Plus sdxc and am copying my library over to it from my roon server. When that's completed I may listen to it some but I will probably just plug in the burn-in cable and start that process.
I picked up the dx260 becuase I've been so impressed with my dx180. I am really curious to hear the differences between the two.

It's been 5 days since you got your DX260 and hopefully you got some listening sessions in. What are the differences between the DX180 and DX260 that you think are worth paying the higher price for the DX260?

I have given it a quick listen and first impressions are very positive, but the device is still burning in and it would not be appropriate to comment just yet. What I'll say is that I'm happy with both products. I picked up the dx260 with the intent that it will be an in-the-home portable solution and therefore I intend to work some of my headphones from it and I wanted the extra power output available from the dx260, so that alone makes it worth it for me. I've no complaints with the dx180 I think its a fantastic device and I would be happy just with it alone and would not be compromising.

Hello, friends! I want to ask you.
1) They write that DX260 sounds muddy and lacks detail and energy. It seems like it is not trying. Is this true?
2) Before it, I liked the Shanling M6 Pro 21 player on ESS. Will this player be worse in sound? I listen on Ananda Nano.
Thank you.

DX260 never sounds muddy even when brand new out of the box without burn in. In fact, it's very detailed and reference sound, who wrote DX260 as muddy?! 😂
Ibasso products house sounds is always holographic and have a large soundstage, very detailed reference type of sound with lots of treble energy.
DX260 never lack detail and energy at all. That's totally wrong information you got there.
Out of the box, the treble might sounds harsh and edgy to me but after around 10 hours or so, the treble harshness is gone.
I never heard of Shanling so I have no comments on that.

Thank you, dear friend!🙂
I took this information from reviews and comments + also from the fact that the DAC there is entry-level))
